If you think Fancis might get traded this offseason you might want to think again.

Thomas has been quiet about the starting lineup, but privately, he has indicated that Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis will form the starting backcourt. Francis became deflated last season when Brown — who advocated trading for him — refused to start him alongside Marbury

It looks like Isiah has big plans for Marbury and Francis.

It's time for some people here to start claiming that it was Isiah who wanted to get Francis.

I think Francis is tradeable but Larry Brown destroyed any trade value he could have. I like the idea of Steph adn Francis in the back. Stephon should carry the scoring load and Francis can add his own when Stephon backs down. Neither play defense so we need the 3 to be a good defender and make up for them. If Lee plays the 3, he can stay with most other quicker 3's. Notice I said most because I dont expect him to guard Pierce or McGrady effectively but he can stay with the decent SFs in the league. Lee is also a good rebounder so he will make up for Curry's lack of rebounding. Can Frye block shots? If Frye can block in the NBA, we have a .500 lineup.

With consistent minutes and predefined roles, Our team will easily win 5 or 6 more games without any other changes on offense or defense.

I think this could work. Imagine if 3 years ago, we were told this was the starting backcourt. I think most of us would have been very happy. They each can play point and they each can play the 2. Defensively it will be a problem but roations and scheme could help. Offensively this could be an nightmare for opposing D's.

Craw and Nate off the bench? Where is Collins?

Francis was having an ofjf year before he came to NY. NY was the only team dumb enough to take him

I don't see a Marbury/Francis backcourt can work. Between both guys you don't have a PG OR a SG. Only with the Knicks could you see something like this.

steve francis is not a PG. Having been an allstar doesn't make him a good PG

I'll get back to you guys in 4months after seeing Marcus play. Francis is a 6-3 SG who needs to have the ball in his hands much like his partner Marbury except Marbury is 1,000,000,000 times better

One thing's for sure Marcus Williams isn't owed 17mm. What does Marcus have to do with this thread by the way? do u mean MArdy Collins?

Larry Brown legacy continues... To me Marbury and Francis are BOTH PG's! There are different kinds of PG, but it seems that you just can be a good point guard if you play like Eric Snow or Steve Nash.

That being said, I don't want Marbury and Francis to pley together. Get Eddy Jones for Francis and then we will have a PG and a SG (expiring contract also)
