Croshere Dealt To Dallas For Daniels
5th July, 2006 - 10:30 pm
Indiana Star - The Indiana Pacers have traded forward, Austin Croshere, to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for guard, Marquis Daniels.

Croshere has averaged 7.5 points and 4.3 rebounds during his career with the Pacers.

Daniels averaged 9.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists in three seasons with the Mavericks.

The deal can't become official until July 12 when teams can complete trades and free agent signings.

Mark Cuban tightening the purse strings a little...never thought I'd see the day (like a Knicks fan should be the one to say THAT!)

I think he's just tightening it to spend it. As opposed to the Knicks who just spend it and spend it and spend it and for players who are only available because nobody else wants them.

they just gave jason terry a 6 year deal and dirk a 3 year extension. so they needed to dump a contract they didn't need.

Ah...I stand corrected.

Actually what is frightening is Cuban is displaying some foresight. He hasn't done that yet all his trades were very now oriented. This is the first I can remember where he is dealing away a contract for an expiring.

My bet is he got someone targeted in FA next year. $20 says Cuban gets nailed for tampering at some poin next year.

Dallas moves the contract and get a serviceable backup at 4 for Dirk

Marquis was the odd man out however he is a ballplayer. Nellie's last full year when Fin was down he put up 20-5-5 over the last 20 games.

should flourish in Indy as a 2nd or 3rd option.

I know we have Balkman but should Isiah try and pry Steve Jax to start at 3 any way

perhaps they'll take Taylor in a sal dump or maybe Larry wants Jalen back

going ahead they have Danny Marquis Shawne Will and James White. Birds retooling his perimeter team.

I think this might have more to do with Ager and Van horn. But that is just a guess.

Great trade for both.

Pacers essentially traded Croshere & Marcus Williams for Daniels & Shawne Williams (think back to what their draft options were).

Mavs did something similar with Ager & Croshere taking roster spots from Daniels & probably Van Horn.
