For a time, the organization would not dare mention the word... but now it is painfully obvious that for some time we have been in the midst of a "rebuilding" process in New York.

I am tired of whining posteres crying about the Bulls, Suns, Pistons, Wizards ect.
These teams all went through tough rebuilding periods and long losing seasons, to collectheir talent. When the Knicks made their last run to the finals, these teams were already knee deep in cow pooh. Now they are strong and guys rank on the GM for not managing to cut short a 4-5 year rebuilding plan in to 2?!? Sure Zeke has made several questionable moves (the coaching manuvers and the JJ signing have been downright shameful), but it is still quite early relative to a typical rebuilding processes (for how long did the Bulls suck?!?).

Zeke made the strategic decision to forgo cap concerns in order to dramatically changeup the roster... even with hindsight, I cannot blame him - when you do have cap space you often overpay for other team's stars.. and when you suck, other stars won't want to play for your team.

When you evaluate the heart of this team's futurw, I cannot help but be patiently optimistic for the years ahead.

- Channing has a combination of character & skills that are a rarity in this league. Anyone would play hard with this guy as their squad's star...
- Jamal gave you a peek into the dynamic he can bring to a team with last season's final thirty games. He has tremendous intangables and a star's killer instinct. He is only scratching the surface of what he will eventually bring each night once he becomes a veteran in his prime.
- What is there not to like about David Lee? He will learn a mid range jumper... The kid is mature beyond his years and is already a gamer who brings it with his hustle and surprising hops.
- Nate is such a unique weapon... if this kid develops a defensive game and a veteran's cool, Knicks fan's will have plenty to cheer about.
- Every GM in the NBA knows that one day Curry will turn in to a beast down low. Zeke was just the only one who was willing to start paying for it now. You guys have short memories... how many years did I have to suffer trhrough Kurt Thomas's bone headed-offensive and defensive fouls before he learned how to thrive in the NBA game?! This kid needs time, he is so young he could have been Mason's lovechild... I do not regret that trade... Curry will be a force, and when he is, every team will be waiting for the next Curry that only pops up in the draft maybe once every every 6 years...

The media busts on the knicks because the media always takes cheap shots when a team is down while rebuilding... I for one, am tired of all the posters who get all envious of other team's sqads that had to go through years of medocraty to collect their talent...

SUCK IT UP, STOP CRYNG AND ENJOY THE RIDE!!!

When is the nightmare going to end? This process was poorly handled from the start, the rebuilding should have took place after 2000. It didn't happen and now we are forced to watch this debacle for over 5 years. Don't blame the fans for crying, they have every right too. Especially when we have had incompetent general managers over the years who have put us in a deeper hole. Keep crying guys, let out all your emotions.

except Paxson... and what a mistake by him. Now he's got to lament over Curry's departure while Ben Wallace misses free throws and Ty Thomas works on growing facial hair.

FISH, it is quite simple. Paxson does not doubt Curry value as a player, he just was not willing to tie up his team's flexability to imvest in a player who will take a great deal of time to reach his potential. He was not willing to pay him now for what he will become in three years from now. The Knicks were screwed with the cap regardless of Curry's contract - it therefore made perfect sense to commit those resources to obtain this talent.

I LIKE what Isiah has done so far. I know that sounds crazy to many of you, but really we have some nice young players who will all grow together over the next few years. I don't care what Chicago does. I only care about our continued development.

On that note I was very encouraged to listen to the very positive comments coming out of summer league practice. Frye, Lee and Nate all seem to like what Isiah and his staff are doing so far. They say that things are off to a MUCH better start. Guys are being given CLEAR direction, roles and an idea of the teams goals for this year on defense and offense. Isiah has already started to show them his defensive and offensive schemes and principles. I think this is going to be a VERY good thing for these young players. We don't need to go out and make a splashy new signing or trade. We have loads of talent already that just needs to be coached.

I haven't given up on Curry, but were there any other teams in the hunt for him? If not, Isiah bid against himself.

Isiah said that the Suns really wanted Curry too. Or was that Balkman? I dunno, he uses that lame excuse so often it's hard to keep track.

I heard the Suns were also interested in Jerome James at the time of the signing last year.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I'd rather lose out on Marcus Williams than surrender, in effect, two unprotected first round picks.

As I've said, picking Balkman was a a bad value, but I admire Isiah's conviction given the stakes for him, and he does know talent.

IMHO, I am not sure Balkman is bad value; for me it was just that Isiah could have gotten Balkman and more value.

who cares? the point is that we have curry now. jeez, you guys are like a broken record...I hated isiah move number 27, so therefore I don't have to like this team.

Jeez...do you guys actually buy the crap you are selling?

the post stated that we are in 2.5 years of rebuilding and are ahead of everyother teams schedules, the first response was...
"well, we should have been rebuilding since 2000"
jeez...that's all you have to say? Well, we didn't start rebuilding in 2000, we started the day isiah thomas was hired 2.5 years ago, so try to adjust your thinking to begin in 2003, and stop griping about the past (read the thread title one more time)

As usual, islesfan has absolutely nothing to contribute, so he just tosses in a swipe at isiah, to be expected. READ THE TITLE OF THE THREAD.

And then there is fishy, another irrellevant post (though this time not about jerome james) that once again has nothing to do with the title of the thread.

The title is stop crying...not, hey use this thread to continue crying.

Suddenly this thread is a review of the 2 questionable moves zeke made the last year and completely ignoring lee, nate, frye, curry and crawford's value to the future of the franchise and how far we have come in only 3 year's of rebuilding (actually 2.5, but who is counting).

Now we have a gun to our heads as fans to double larry's win total or we are a shambles of a franchise.

And that would have to occur in year 3 of the rebuilding.

once again I ask, do you guys even read your posts? Are you really knick fans? Do you really have any idea what it takes to succeed in the nba? Do you?

Because I see no proof of it.

Zeke younger and more athletic plan is coming up on year 3 and we have a core of players under the age of 26 at every position and are 2 deep at each position.

To me, that's amazing progress. what is it to you?

Oh yeah, i forgot, it's that we paid too much for curry and balkman should have been picked at 29 instead of 20...are you effing kidding me?

Bro...I love this line but I don't know what's worse....hating a gm because of move 27 or actually realizing that in less than 3 years, it is totally believable that our gm made 27 moves.

LOL....
RV has it down... we have I nice core for the future... considering what other rebuilding projects had to do, we are in a solid position for the future...
You have to consider how long the Nets sucked for before they rebuilded into a championchip contender...
