Couple other players mentioned (Butler, Snow, Pavlovic), but ESPN/Realgm posters have said it was mentioned on NBATV (direct tv). Not trying start any bs gossip, but curious about this one..

I read the thread on the ESPN boards...I am not sure what to think....another PG (just like to point out a PG LB wanted-coincidence?) and another PF....

Someone on the Realgm board said it best....I would rather go after Hughes in a deal like this.

Just for the sake of argument-Base of the deal is Francis for Hughes and Snow.

Hughes
Marbury

I'm not a huge fan of Gooden but if we can get a double/double frontcourt player, sign me up!

Not that I am in the Isiah contingent, but I wouldn't hate that deal. I do hate Eric Snow and he serves no purpose for us at all, but Drew Gooden is a beast on the boards, and could compliment Curry and Frye well on the glass.

I think we would be giving up too much though. We give up more talent, and we still get 2 big contracts back. Theres gotta be a better way.

Eh, Snow doesn't help us now becuase we have Mardy Collins. I hate Drew Gooden, I know the guy grabs rebounds but he does absolutely nothing else. I wouldn't mind getting someone like Reggie Evans for a smaller contract if all the player we add is going to grab rebounds.

I would do the deal for Gooden(depending on his contract) and Snow. To get rid of francis............ hell yeah I would do it.

I've never had a problem with Snow.



this would be a good, no, actually, almost a great trade. i hate Francis. I really like Gooden.

All of the posts are based on mindless speculation. The only point of interest is the amount of respect Jackie Blue gets on the Cav boards. Beyond that the rumor starts, roughly: my friend was watching NBA TV and told me the Cavs were going to trade for Steve Francis.

After that, it spiraled out of control. Please. People have to stop hating SF and acting like he has no value at all. That is patently untrue. The biggest problem with SF is that he plays the same position as Marbury. Beyond that, he is a worthwhile player who needs to redeem some value in the eyes of fans.

The trade actually seems pretty decent. I'm not crazy about Gooden, but he is still on the young side and could be a decent acquisition. Frankly, I'd be a little stunned to see the Cavs give up their starting PF in any trade.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I agree; if I were Lebron, this would be enough for me not to sign that extension. No way would I want to share the ball with Steve for the next three years.

Well, he is a restricted Free agent and they have Donyell Marshall who, despite his worst numbers in years, still seems capable of starting at the Four. It seems like Eric Snow/Damon Jones isn't cutting the mustard. So, they are in the market for a PG. BUT...all the rumors are crap. AND, if a Drew Gooden trade takes minutes from Frye, I am against it.

Snow is not the same player he was before.There is no way in hell the Knicks should go after him. Snow right now gets abused on the defensive end more than Tina Turner from Ike.
