hmm, we should see him against the knicks...maybe he'll light us up for 44 pts to take out his frustration for trading him

''We don't have the luxury to take anybody lightly,'' New York's Quentin Richardson said. ''We're not that good.''

I always liked Frankie. I hope Mardy Collins plays as well as Frank did his first year for the Knicks (and obviously has more success, thereafter).
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

me too... if we worked harder on his body I have no doubt he could have been a good NBA player

whats your point? JJ proved time and time again he didnt care about conditioning or being in shape, and we awarded him with $30mm

I could see Frankie filling the Linsey Hunter role for Detroit, if he departs.

No need to trash the thread. This thread was about Frank Williams. It's pretty cool that he might make a comeback, no? For a while we thought he would be a mainstay in this organization, for years.

I was actually asking Fish a serious question. He seems to have a different standard for out of shape players he likes (Sweetney, Frank) than ones he doesn't like.

It's cool if he DOES make a comeback, not that he MIGHT make one.

For a while we thought he would be a mainstay in this organization, for years.
That only makes me more disappointed in him. I'm rooting for him, but right now he's no different to me than Jerome James and Eddy Curry (both of whom I'm also rooting for), Tractor Traylor, Clearance Weatherspoon, etc.

Frank Williams - Joe Dumars was set to acquire Frank from the Chicago Bulls in 2004/5 in exchange for Smush Parker and Horace Jenkins.

I think of it this way. You name JJ, Curry, Weatherspoon, etc... those guys all set back this organization (actually Spoon didn't so much) with their big contracts and lack of effort. Frank gave it his all while he was here, and wasn't a financial burden. He was rewarded with good play by being relegated to an 8th man and then traded to a team who had no room for him. Tough break, for the kid. I think he still has a shot to be a solid roleplayer. Furthermore, when he was here I was rooting for him heavily and wanted him to succeed. I don't feel the same about Big Snacks. I did like Spoon, but he wasn't put in the best situation. Eddy Curry I was rooting for, but again, another lazy player.

That's what I suspected. I always separate the player from the contract. I'm sure if Frank had been given $30 mil to be lazy, he would have taken it. The contract is the GM's and owner's fault, not the player's. It's not JJ's fault his contract is hurting the team. It's his fault he's out of shape but it's equally Frank's fault that he's been out of shape.

Wow. The only rebuttal I have is that I liked Frank when he was in shape and playing well for us. Then circumstance put him in a difficult spot AND THEN he got out of shape. As for the rest of it, I reiterate... wow.

Don't quite get the "Wow"; All I was saying was a) I hold the same standard for a player to be in shape regardless of his salary. b) If he's overpaid it's the GM's owner's fault for overpaying him. Which part "wows" you?

Nothing. Just your type of reasoning reminds me a bit of my ex-girlfriend. She also was a psychology major.

Not knocking you, just wondering if it's a psych major thing.

LOL! I'm speaking for both of us about psychology! Speaking just for myself: Solace's emotionality sounds a lot like my ex gf when she was on the rag. I could say the most innocuous thing ("I don't judge a guy based on his salary" to Solace or to her ("I'm gonna get a glass of water") and it would lead to an emotional outburst! He's not usually like this, though!
