Yup, thats what i was thinking! I understand even thought he is a FA Woods has propably been around in the league long enough not to have to participate in the SL.

Butler is another case!!!

I really wonder what this implicates for their signing status!!! Does Zeke try to hide them? Are they not in his planings anymore?

I'm kind of surprised about Donnie McGrath. He was the starting PG at Providence for 4 years. Was a decent player but was never really able to bring his success in the high school level up to the college level.

I'm thinking the Knicks are doing this as a favor for him since he's from westchester (they also worked him out before the draft). Maybe he impresses someone and gets a training camp invite to another team, but I don't think that will happen. Still, he was a hell of a player in high school. I went to the same high school as him and saw him play a lot during his junior and senior years. He would simply take over games scoring 30 or 40 points for fun. At Providence, he was never able to be the big time scorer he was in high school when they needed him to take over. During his sophomore season (when he and Gomes led Providence to the NCAA tournament) the team really needed someone other than Gomes to step up and score but no one was able to do that.

Anyway, I like our summer league team. What happened to Curry though? I thought he said he was going to play SL.

---------------
Killingsworth was considered a first rounder while Mardy Collins was regarded as a potential late lottery pick.

Interesting.. wonder if Marco can make the roster.

I'm steadfast in my belief that we could save a lot of money by negotiating reasonable buyouts. Namely Mo Taylor, Francis and Malik Rose.

If you could shave off $15mm from Francis (assuming someone gives him a 3 year MLE offer)
$2mm off Mo T (should be able to get that on the open market)
and $4mm off Malik (maybe SA offers him that over 3 years, VERY cheap and he's loved there)

and just replace those guys with guys like Killingsworth we could save close to $20mm

Elite, you took the words right off of my computer...if they don't want to stay because zeke saved their basketball careers, then they just don't want to stay and are as bad as the other overpriced players we have.

We've basically got their replacements in THIS YEAR's draft.

for me its about philosophy. The Mo T's and JJs of our roster represent millionaire players that partly because of salary believe they are entitled. Jackie Butler and Woods for that matter represent guys happy to have NBA jobs and will play their asses off to keep them. Once your out its awfull tough to get back in.

Also money does matter, it always does, even to the Knicks. The less you piss away the more you have for other resources.

come on fish, admit it, you want zeke to give Jackie B and woods $3 mill each so you can bitch about how we overpaid and then hopefully when we don't keep the better players (this year's draft AND this adeke kid, however the heck we ended up with this kid is crazy btw).

If they don't want $2 mill, adios.

our first round picks have garunteed contracts.

Besides, Jackie b was pretty deep in my depth chart to warrant anything other than filling in when fouls were a problem.

I'd much rather have Curry/Frye/Lee rotation, and heaven forbid this adelekeke kid is for real (which would be the ONLY reason we would let jackie walk).

Woods was a big player in my plans, but then again, maybe QRich is over brandi and is ready to hit open jumpers that he will have in ABUNDANCE!

From here on out, all new contracts are $2 mill max. Mo is expiring and if jj doesn't come in to play the coach that brought him in will not even think twice about suiting that bitch.

(sorry, was partying all week, the curses are flowing like crazy, is there a filter on this jammy mods?)

$3mm for Jackie is market value. If we gave him that it might be the first time in Knick history we ever signed anyone to market value. Woods just needs to keep his nose clean. I only bitch about overpaid guys that suck and have always sucked, regardless of what the team NEEDS at the time of the signing.

Funny how only 1 year later we NEED to find a way to get some of these crappy contracts off the roster. Get it? We NEED to get rid of some of these guys.

McK1 - Eddy promised to ATTEND Summer League. What that involves is not clear. It remains an honorable gesture.

I DID however say that each one of the Knicks should be in Las Vegas.

marbury, believe it or not was market value for 21/8...look at the players being paid at or the same as him...franchise, tim thomas, etc.

To suddenly wake up and say everone is overpaid is kind of LBing it a bit...but i forgot, the haters believe in magic beans.

2.5 years and still on target and not overly concerned about the LB debacle year, Rose came with a pick and is expiring, franchise is better than houston (yeah baby, I said it!)

may as well get allan fan riled up today.
