They need to thin out the rotation and get it down to 9-10 players. If Balkman and Collins can play, they should play every night to help our D.

It's time to make some tough choices with regard to the roster. Larry couldn't do it and it was a major reason we stank. Isiah has to cut down the rotation and stick with a core if he has any chance to win.

9 - Balkman

no room for Qyntel (who's a FA) unless you cut someone off the roster.

While this is the concept of the other thread, Francis has far more innate (not "in Nate") ability that people give him credit for. I let him start under Isiah until he proves that last year was how he actually plays. Give him the opportunity to be the Steve Francis we all knew and feared.

We will have to sort out the backcourt problem before a rotation is determined. Either Francis goes or Nate and either Crawford or Qrich goes. A simple offseason move would be trying to trade Francis for Harrington. In that case our rotation would be very good.

C Curry 30 Lee 18
PF Frye 30 Harrington 18
SF Harrington 18 Balkman 18 Richardson 10
SG Richardson 18 Crawford 28 Nate/Mardy 2
PG Marbury 38 Nate/Mardy 12

That's a solid 9-man rotation. Unfortunately, even with this rotation its still gonna be hard to find minutes for both collins and robinson. I think it's either gonna be one or the other, unless you could find a way to move robinson for a backup center. But i definitely like this roster.

I like this plan the best wih one minor tweak. I like Richardson at SG, and I the more I think about it, the more I feel Harrington might be a very good fit for this team (hell none of the other vets really play D, why start now?)

I think Craw should be used as a swing off the bench and Collins should be the back-up to the back-up at PG and Nate the back-up to the back-up at the 2. The backcourt looking something like this with Nate and Collins getting 10-12 minutes each unless they earn more-we can not have a bench that goes 12 deep again, it has GOT to be shortened to 9 at the most.....

Q-Craw-Nate
Marbury-Craw-Collins

A frontcourt of Harrington-Frye-Curry is the no-defense-havingest frontcourt I may have ever seen, but if it is true Frye is up to around 260, he may be a goliath in the middle and not get pushed out. I think Frye has the potential to be the best defender of that bunch, and the ethic to do it(something I doubt Curry and Harrington have)...

At the frontcourt, my ideal would be-

Curry-Frye
Frye-Lee
Harrington-Lee-Balkman

Balkman and Collins are basically put in as a defensive line type of lineup. The other 2 guys on the end of this bench are Malik Rose and Jerome James-IF he gets in shape.

Also something I would look at-

Sending Francis to the Clips-who may be interested in him because they don't want to resign Sam-I-Am and Steve will put Brokeback mountain back together again-for future picks and a throw away player(Quinton Ross?), while shipping Jalen-he can play PG or Point Forward (and Nate?) and intiate their offense for a resigned Harrington.
