4. Suns' D'Antoni: Marion, Barbosa Staying Put
5. Sonics' Lewis Could Go In Draft Deal

1. Celtics Focusing On Deal For Iverson
In the BOSTON HERALD, Steve Bulpett writes that the "Celtics were performing CPR on the Allen Iverson trade talks as of late yesterday, seeking to revive a deal for the Sixers All-Star guard." A deal for Iverson "would involve numerous moving pieces and could be stopped by a number of factors. At this stage, while two sources said the Celtics were willing to discuss other moves for a veteran, most everything else appears to have been pushed aside in an effort to get an Iverson deal in line."

2. Raptors Likely To Go With Bargnani
In the TORONTO SUN, Steve Buffery writes that "the man with the plan, the dapper deal-maker, Raptors general manager/president Bryan Colangelo announced yesterday that his short list of potential draftees is down to two. No names were given, but it's almost certain Italian forward Andrea Bargnani is one of the players in question and the other is ... well, it doesn't really matter. It doesn't make any sense that Colangelo would not draft Bargnani with the team's first pick, whether it's with the No.1 spot overall or lower, if the Raptors trade down."

3. Signs Point To Bulls Selecting LSU's Thomas
In the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, Brian Hanley writes that "there are those who believe NBA commissioner David Stern will have the Bulls' choice in hand for the second pick in the draft tonight as quickly as you can say, 'Tyrus Thomas.' That includes a Bulls source, who is all but assured that general manager John Paxson will select the 6-8, 217-pound forward from LSU at No. 2. Paxson agreed last week that Thomas, 19, is the most athletic player available."

4. Suns' D'Antoni: Marion, Barbosa Staying Put
In the EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE, Scott Bordow writes that "pick a Web site, any Web site, and you'll find a rumor about the Suns. They're going to trade Shawn Marion to the Chicago Bulls. They want to deal Leandro Barbosa. They're interested in Seattle's Ray Allen or Rashard Lewis. Interesting stuff. If any of it were true. Take it from Mike D'Antoni, and he should know: Marion isn't going anywhere. Neither is Barbosa. The Suns are close to a championship, and the general manager isn't going to mess up the coach by trading one of the team's key players."

5. Sonics' Lewis Could Go In Draft Deal
In THE NEWS TRIBUNE, Frank Hughes writes that "as draft day approached, the Sonics' decision-makers holed up in their practice facility and tried to get closer to a consensus on which player they will take with the 10th pick. In reality, the Sonics would like to trade down in the draft and get multiple picks for next season. As the Sonics discussed swapping the 10th and 21st picks with Phoenix, another possibility was raised: Along with the picks, trading principals Rashard Lewis for Shawn Marion, with Danny Fortson thrown in for salary cap purposes. The Suns' Leandro Barbosa also could be involved."

6. Grizzlies' West Planning To Deal Tonight
In the COMMERCIAL APPEAL, Ron Tillery writes that "while it sounds strange: Shane Battier could end up helping the Grizzlies get better by leaving. That's one of the main options Grizzlies president Jerry West explored Tuesday on the eve of the NBA draft. Realizing it must make bold moves this offseason to satisfy glaring needs in the backcourt and up front, the organization plans to chase deals throughout tonight's NBA draft. Expect the Grizzlies to operate with a simple draft-day formula: They want to move up from 24th into the top half of the first round, and they're willing to cash in a coveted asset to make something happen."

7. Wizards To Offer Jordan New Contract
In the WASHINGTON POST, Ivan Carter writes that "Gilbert Arenas said yesterday that he is willing to take a pay cut if it would enable the Wizards to sign a free agent who would make the team more competitive. Meanwhile, the Wizards will attempt to make sure Arenas gets to play for the coach he wants. Wizards President of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfeld said yesterday that the team plans to offer head coach Eddie Jordan a contract extension that would keep him from leaving when his contract expires after next season."

Maybe we can get shard for expiring contracts or package our picks and get battier - i'd love either of those 2 on this team.

interesting, I'm guessing all the activity is due to a lowly graded draft class.

I dont see how pick # 20 and #29 along with Franchise cant win us a real player from a team like Seattle.

I think the problem is the Curry trade showed the league that Isiah would give away the farm and now they all want Channing and Zeke has to stick to his guns right now.

Franchise is a talented player - people are forgetting Marbury had less success then Steve did and the Knicks paid more for him then they did for Francis.
