I remember you mentioned a week or so ago that "A little birdie" mentioned that Channing was busting his ars and pushing 260. Where'd you get that from, b/c to me, that was some of the best news I've heard all Summer, regarding the KNicks, if that's true of course.

A season ticket holder I know (he's kinda a dick but I hang with him as a favor from time to time).
He's in contact with PR people as well as some guys that work with the players.

Thats all he said, that CF was working hard and hitting the weight room bigtime.

Lets face it... this year and immediate (3-4 year) future depends on Frye, JB (resigned), Lee, Nate and Crawford all or mostly becoming bigtime NBA players. I think they all have the heart and work ethic, but do they have the talent?

Eddie has the talent, but does he have the work ethic? I'm not holding my breath on him.. the other guys I still hold some hope for.

fishmike, what is your definition of bigtime player though? Crawford and Channing turning into all stars while David Lee really does become Charles Oakley?

I've been trying to be very careful in how I look at those 3 players, and Nate. I love all of them, especially b/c they do have the heart and work ethic (We'll have to see with Crawford and how he comes into camp) but I feel that a lot of people expect them to be more than what they can be. So many people say "Ahhh Channing, the next Duncan" yada yada, but they just don't evaluate their games and their strengths and weaknesses and while I do have rather high espectations for them, I think that a lot of the overhype of those guys is a bit unfair.

Let them be what they can be. If Channing is still in the area of a 14 and 7 player next year, I'll be fine, if he learns to improve his defense and boxing out. I'm fine with baby steps like that.
