I'm tired of Knicks players being coddled. It's time they get their asses reamed out becuase they haven't done much right the past 7 years.

BT: Is Marbury the leader of the team?

Zeke: I am the leader of the team. If anybody on the team is looking for a leader, they need to look no further than me, because I am the leader.

Zeke: In B-ball you don't necesarily have to have leadership skills to be successful. Stephon maybe not the leader. He doesn't have to be, I am the leader.

BT: you need a leader.

Zeke: Look at the finals, who is the leader of Dallas and Miami?

BT: Point taken. Neither team really has the vocal leader, Shaq is older, wade is young, Dirk isn't vocal. Point taken.

SAS: What was your vision before the trades for Rose & Francis?

Zeke: I've been here 2.5 years. It was a situation where I needed to rebuild. Our salaries were coming down. We would have been at 67 million with all of our young players.

SAS: Dolan says LB begged him for Francis & Rose.

Zeke: There is no reason for us, not to want to work with Larry. What do we have to gain by not having LB as our coach?

BT: You said the guys were soft and not tough, do you have enough guys now who are tough enough/ ready to go? Do you have enough dogs in the stable?

Zeke: We'll make dogs.

BT: How?

Zeke: You'll see. If you look at my background. I've played on some of the greatest defensive teams in the history of the game. In indiana and with the pistons. The teams I coached in Indy were always solid defensively. We'll get it done.

Zeke: You will see a team that defends and you will see a team that rebounds.

SAS: Your career may very well be on the line. If you don't accomplish Dolan's goals...Steph and these guys hold your future in their hands. What happens if this doesn't work out?

Zeke: I am extremely confortable operating in a pressure environment. I will make sure that our players are comfortable operating, and thinking under pressure.

SAS: what does that mean?

Zeke: It means we wont have to deal with an answer to your hypothetical question.

I think people really forget how TOUGH Isiah is. That man is a survivor and a winner. He hasn't had the best of success here so far, but I think he'll get the job done next season.

I think what he is trying to do is take away the pressure from the players and take a different route that lb took. he is letting it all fall on him....yeah the players have accountability here...isiah is fighting for his career now so he will do things differently, if the players doing what they are supposed to be doing remember that isiah is also the gm.

Good interview. Much, much better than that fluff job with Trautwig last night I tell you that. While they had him on the horn, you think they could've asked him about the draft a little bit??? Overall though, good job by SAS, BT and Isiah. I liked it.

It is going to be a rough way to go for those guys. His back is against the wall, I think it will be hell for guys who loaf and dont work hard. Zeke sounds mean and serious. He is from the 80's, that whole culture and mentality is way different. Its gonna be serious, he is not playing around at all. I believe he will get it done for us.

He took all accountability away from marbury

he basically took away all accountability from the players.

It's not hard to understand why. After a coach that blamed the players for everything, except for the occassional lip service ("i've done a terrible job"), Isiah wants the players to know that they can trust him. To me, it's better to play down a player's deficiencies than to call attention to them.

If I was a player, I'd rather go to battle for someone who looks out for me than for a coach who picks me apart at every opportunity.

NIce Kool Aid stuff.

Isiahs words have no meaning to me. He has a great history of saying what the fan wants to hear.

Let the actions speak on the court. IF Larry was so disliked he can use that as a rallying point that he took care of larry and now its time to take care of Isiah and the knicks! IF they won't run thru walls for him, he is dead man coaching!

Nalod, are you planning on getting tickets this season? You sound like you are done with the Knicks. I am not renewing my tickets, not so much of the displeasure but other factors. I am just curious how many people on this board are giving up their tickets.
