He can play RIGHT NOW and would be the heir apparent for the club as a leader. hes a PERFECT fit for the underbelly youth of the team +he can IMPACT the team NOW. How can this club get that 10 pick thats what I want-----we dont need Al Harrington--keep what we have get that seattle pick and maybe pick up an early 2 for a shot blocker like Boone.

That's a dream scenario !

Clearly, most of us would do that. I wonder if the Knicks would (meaning, trade up for the top PG). My reasoning is that they may feel that the psyche is maybe on the upswing after unloading Brown. They may feel that that feeling is fragile. Trading up & drafting the top PG sends a message to your current PG how much confidence you have in him. May backfire. Not saying I agree, but I believe they'll put all their eggs in a Marbury basket.

BRIGGS, I wish we would do that but I doubt Isiah will draft a PG that high. To him, its like admitting he messed up by getting "Starbury." The reasons purple mentioned certainly come into play also.

we need a back up PG no matter what. I think even Isiah will admit Starbury is *on the clock* here in NY and he has to step up--and if he cant we have a talented young PG who also happens to be a leader who can take his place at some point. Williams fills a role now that we need.

how is this even an option? why do people set themselves up for disappointment like this? word is seattle is interested in keeping the pick or moving it to Phoenix depending on who is available.

Seattle-Phoenix Trade Update

According to what we’ve been told over the past few days, the Seattle-Phoenix (Shawn Marion/Rashard Lewis +#10) trade did and still does have legs. But team sources we spoke to describe it as just one of many “contingency plans” they are working on this week as they attempt to build as many different draft scenarios as they can to try and plan ahead for what is sure to be an unpredictable draft.

This specific contingency plan was most certainly on the table and may have weakened a bit since it leaked, but is still an option on draft night if certain players on are or off the board for both teams. Players who must be off the board include Shelden Williams and Randy Foye for Seattle, while Rodney Carney or Ronnie Brewer must be on. Another player that the Sonics are warming up to lately is Saer Sene, but there is no guarantee he will be around at #21 if they trade down.

anyone know where this idea that the Knicks will be able to trade both their picks for SEA's #10 is coming from? has there been any reliable sources reporting this, or is this just some writer's idea he made up in his news article that everyone's jumping on cuz we have nothing else to talk about these days? if they could do it, it would be awesome, but i don't know why SEA would do it personally.

Just more mental masterbation as we approach the draft and the high trade season.

While everyone is tradable, Marion being moved is insteresting. My take is he is one injury from being an average player. If done, PHX becomes even more interesting team to follow as they are retooling on the fly.

Or, the owner does not want to pay for marion. him to the bulls for the no. 2 pick has some merrit. BUlls have cap space to eat him. TT with Amare would be fun!

We definitely need a back-up PG, we need a PG period, but is Isiah willing to admit that when the media questions why we have Nate, Jamal, Stephon, and Steve?

I don't see that hapening. I could barely see us taking a PG at 20 or 29, but I think if he was to add another PG to the roster it would be through FA. Don't get me wrong, if Isiah somehow lands the 10th pick or a different pick and gets us Marcus Williams, I will be thrilled. But I just can't see that hapening.

I could see Thomas souring on Marbury or putting him "on the clock" as you said, but I think that would happen mid-season or after the Knicks start losing hard so that Isiah attempts to save his job by putting the blame on others, something he's real good at.

I'm loving this idea floating around that the knicks could obtain lewis, fortson, watson, and the 10th pick for rose, crawford, robinson or lee, and our picks. Sounds perfect.

LB is no longer our head coach... let's forget about LB & think ahead to what the future holds in store.

there is none, zero, nada way with Isiah going into a lame duck season with a $100mm plus payroll that he drafts a PG with Marbury, Francis, Nate and Crawford on the roster and making about $40 million buck
