Here's what Chad had to write about the Knicks at 20:

"Now that Isiah Thomas has to coach the team, he's going to have to figure out how to win -- now.

No one available at No. 20 is likely to help, meaning the Knicks could go for the best big man on the board and leave him overseas for a few years while they clear out some of the roster clutter.

Pecherov is a big shooter who can rebound and run the floor.

P.J. Tucker, Josh Boone and Marcus Vinicius Vieira de Souza are also options here."
NOTE: Tucker, Boone, and Vinicius, Ford's other options at 20, are all available in the 2nd round in his mock draft, so why the Knicks wouldn't just take them at 29 is beyond me. Ford-logic.

And here is what he has at 29:

"The skinny: We've had UConn's Josh Boone in this spot for a month, but it's looking more and more like the Knicks didn't give him a promise.

Diaz isn't a fit, but don't worry, Knicks fans. Most likely, the Knicks will use the pick as bait for the Heat, who have been trying to move up to get Diaz."

I've heard for a while that the Heat/Riley were interested in Diaz, not sure what you can get for him at 29 though, other than a future 1st rounder.

Forgot to mention, he also says the Knicks, along with the Nets and Suns, are trying to move up to Seattle's 10th pick (probably for both first rounders).

That would give the Knicks a shot at Ronnie Brewer.

mck1's deal is going to come true and the antoine allstars will be complete:

I can't see that happening. Heat need to stay in contention for the next 4 years, I doubt they view Diaz as that good. Antoine was an integral part of that championship team, they aren't going to deal him for a re-traed like Mo T (thank God).

Moving up to #10 would be pretty nice. I would even take Danny Fortson off their hands if they wanted. Something like both 1st rounders + player for Danny Fortson + #10.

Lets use the 29th pick plus another player to get James Posey. He's perfect for us at the SF. He's a good defender, athletic, and can hit the open 3.

posey is a free agent and it will have to be a s&t after july 1st.

Sounds too much like the deal we made last summer and that didn't turn out well

I think the deal involves sending out Mo T, Q, Jerome James and Francis for Shaq and Wade, but I might be wrong.

Chad Ford gets spoon fed so many bogus rumors at this time of year because of his high visibility at ESPN, I don't believe a single thing he writes. My fave was when he went 0/29 predicting the first round two years ago. He's plugged in, but EVERYONE lies to him at this time of year and he apparently has no BS detector.

NY and Miami will not be trading.

"• The Knicks brought in Guillermo Diaz over the weekend for a one-on-one workout with Isiah. Why would Isiah Thomas bring in Diaz when he already has four other combo guards on the roster? Let's just say he's covering his bases.

The Miami Heat, as we've reported last week, have been trying to move into the first round and their target has been Diaz. The Knicks are open to trading the No. 29 pick, especially if the Heat are willing to throw Dorell Wright into the deal. However, given that the NBA champs have been pretty good at scouting talent the last few years, Thomas wanted to make sure that he wasn't missing something with Diaz.

For Diaz's sake, let's hope that Isiah wasn't impressed. The last thing Diaz needs is to be stuck behind Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson on a depth chart.

Diaz's agent Jason Levian refused to comment on the rumors other than to say that Diaz is still working out and doesn't have a promise anywhere.

The Mavs had Diaz in on Saturday and the Nets have him in today for a workout."

Isiah worried about being taken in a deal for what would = combo guard # 5 on NY's roster is hilarious.

Taylor + 29 for Walker and Wright. at least hes asking for a guard who might actually have upside

a fair deal would be Q + 29 for Walker and Wright
