Considering the salary cap (intention to never get under it) and coaching change - here's what I would do this off-season.

1) Since IT is coach, Francis will have to be the one to leave. The only two teams I can really see taking him are Atlanta and Denver. Since I'm not a fan of (offense only) Harrington - I would do the Denver deal of Francis, Lee and #29 to Denver for KMart, (resigned) R.Evans and G.Buckner. I know it's a risk with KMart - but I would rather take a chance on someone with heart, that if healty - fills a big need... than a sour, duplicate version of Marbury who will poison the atmostphere. R.Evans will give us that Oakley (lunchpail) type of player we need.

2) Cut Jermone James before training camp.

3) Trade J.Rose, M.Taylor, Q.Rich, Udoka and Butler (resigned) to Phila for Dalembert, Webber, L.Williams and Korver. As a fan of Dalmbert, I think he oould be a great compliment to Curry (since we're stuck with him). Taking Webber stinks, but it is only for one more year. Korver for Q.Rich (even though I respect him) helps team chemistry as he and "Starbury" don't get along. Losing Butler hurts, but our defense gets better with Dalembert.

4) Hire Ewing to work with big men. Fine Curry and sit him if he shows up heavy and/or out of shape. Don't let him play until he's at his playing weight.

5) Re-sign Q.Woods and use draft on "high potential player" - preferably for the SF position (our weakest).

Roster
Marbury (N.Robinson)
Crawford (Buckner)
Woods (Korver)
Frye (R.Evans)
Curry (Dalembert)

the rest...Webber,L.Williams, K.Mart (until knee heals),M.Rose, #20

Improves team chemistry (since we won't get rid of Marbury), team defense, outside shooting, rebounding and shot-blocking. This is not my original plan, but since Larry is gone, Marbury stays and we don't even try to get under the cap... Feedback??

1) If you had a choice and Al harrington is on one end and Kmart the other, why would you choose Kmart??? Frye is probably the best player that has been brought to this team and you are going to bring in Kmart and Evans??? Comeon. And Evans is a good rebounder..... if you think that is all oakly was you should watch some tapes. Evans is only a good rebounder, he does nothing else.
2) Sounds smart, but he is a 7footer making 5.5 million this year. Why do it??? His salary doesn't leave and you are likely wanting to replace him with an 7 stiff.
3)Why??? 25million dollars of cap space, QRich and Butler for Webber,Dambert and Kover???
4)No problems with this one
5)no Problems with this one

madness.

IMHO nobody drafted by isiah is getting traded during his tenure.

I think he is hitching his wagon to marbury, curry and crawford and the drafted players are the final pieces to the puzzle.

I hesitate to say role players (), but expectations are higher for Curry and Crawford and for that matter marbury, then that draft class of last year.

If they play their roles successfully (shot blocking, rebounding, scoring), we're in a good position.

Jackie B is another whacky talent "discovered" by the GM that we want to ride out if we can. He can provide solid defense and rebounding and even scoring for a role player.

I think he stays loyal to him as well.

I thought the goal was to have all the "stars" you need now and for sure do not acquire another "star" and only bring in specific talents for specific roles.
all kool aid all the time.
