The Knicks have 12 people guaranteed under contract next year. They must pay them money, they basically are ensured a spot on the roster.
Marbury, Francis, Robinson, Crawford, Malik Rose, Taylor, James, Curry, Frye, Lee, Jalen Rose, Richardson.
Then there is Jackie Butler and Qyntel Woods, both of whom have expiring contracts but it seems generally accepted that they can be re-signed cheap and people would like them back.
Ok, so that is now 14 people.
Add to that the two first round draft picks, which is guaranteed money.
That is money guaranteed to 16 players, so, assuming this fiscal insanity stops somewhere, who is going to get dealt? Because if they stop just paying people money to not show up, a 2-for-1 or 3-for-2 deal or a package involving the draft picks MUST happen or there will be simply too many people on this team this year.
So who is going where?
