Let the games begin!

I think Bibby and J. Terry might be on the move, maybe for each other in a sign and trade, maybe some other way. But I think Bibby might end up in Dallas.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Bibby in Dallas would be lethal

Yeah, Bibby is a real point guard, a better defensive player, and equal to or maybe better than Terry in scoring ability. Dirk would have a second star to replace the Steve Nash void.

Spurs let Rasho go and Nazr is a FA.

They're well over the cap but they need a center. Resigning Nazr with their Bird Rights seems like the logical solution but he seems out of place come playoffs with those running Western teams.

SA would be scary if they could get Ben Wallace in a sign and trade (assuming he's bent on getting out of Detroit), but I don't see who SA could give the Pistons to justify it for them. And of course with the money Ben wants it could be difficult for him to find it anywhere. I mean I can see a few teams who'd be willing to pay him (perhaps us, NJ, Minny, etc) but he's too old for the under the cap teams, and Detroit would want back a rugged PF for him, and move Sheed to center, I would think.

Matt Bonner (the Red Rocket!) was a fan favorite in Toronto. I'm surprised he was traded in a lateral move.

It couldn't be more obvious what the Spurs are doing: They're clearing room for Jerome James!

Very interesting trade, they must like Oberto who is a PF/C and they got some big men chillin' overseas in:

Ian Mahinmi- 6-10, 230, compared to OK4 http://nbadraft.net/profiles/ianmahinmi.asp

Luis Scola- 6-9, PF compared to Kenny Thomas http://nbadraft.net/profiles/luisscola.htm

Robertas Javtokas- 6-10, 210, about 26 yrs. old. Averages about 8 & 9 overseas. http://www.euroleague.net/plantillas/jugador.jsp?id=BVE

Sergei Karaulov- 6-10, 215, Born in '84...not great stats overseas at all. http://www.fibaeurope.com/cid_f43ulKJBGLcVnbH-aqLVu2.playerID_49969.compID_BYg5Rb55Jw-G5I3MZ6JB01.season_2006.roundID_4602.teamID_5822.html

Viktor Sanikidze- 6-9, 200 SF Born in '86. Drafted in '05, from Republic of Georgia-Had a standout performance for the Georgian National Team where he averaged 18.6 ppg and 11 rpg.

It's a good move for San Antonio. It gives them a straight up sniper to keep defenses honest. SA is always shrewd.

I can honestly say that I am in no way surprised SA would be interested in Eric Williams...he is going to be a big piece th their puzzle next year.

Still think he will be a very important role player for them ala Bruce Bowen.

Why the heck would Toronto take on that deal though and give up a pick?

Maybe I'm missing something but doesn't this also add a decent chunk to their cap next season? Rasho will make nearly 8 mil in 07/08, yikes!

OMG! I didn't notice their salaries. This trade is terrible for Toronto! They had such impressive cap room and they're blowing it on Rasho. This is worse than Jerome James. Both players have around $24 mil left on their contracts, but Rasho is eating up cap space that otherwise would have been free!

Can't sleep on Bonner. He is a threat from the outside. He is a nice role player. They know they need younger legs so the went and got someone.

I also see Duncan and bring a fill time center now cuz he is getting older. I like the post about all the good euro bigmen they have overseas. Luis scola is a big time player.

San Antonio knows what the hell they see doing at least until Duncan is gone.

How could this not be a good trade for toronto? Don't they have the best GM in the game? Or is he thinking beyond this trade ala Isiah?

Reading this was interesting to me.
Mohammed is a free agent, so whether the club tries to re-sign him will be the next indicator.

What a concept!! When was the last time that the Knick have actually let a player go? I can't remember the last time they were able to even consider re-signing a player, or letting him walk (assuming he wasn't already retired!). Does anybody know?

Man, I bet they'd rather have David Lee and another 1st rd pick than lose Nazr and get nothing out of him. They're a great organization that made a dumb trade with the Knicks.
