• Plugged-in league executives report the Memphis Grizzlies are in trade talks with the Utah Jazz about ex-Cav Carlos Boozer, who has endured two injury-riddled years in Salt Lake City that have led to trade rumors in the past. After getting swept out of the playoffs in three consecutive seasons, the Grizzlies might be looking to add some toughness. Boozer has four years and $47 million left on the deal he signed two summers ago.

• Boozer is just one big name that appears to be on the trading block this summer. Rumored for months after Philadelphia media outlets reported the 76ers were investigating fan reaction if they traded Allen Iverson, all signs point to him genuinely being on the trade block. The team refuted those prior reports, but dropping attendance this season sent a message. Now word going through NBA circles is 76ers Chairman Ed Snider recently held a meeting and ordered rebuilding -- including a trade of Iverson.

• The Nets had a successful 2005-2006 season, but Richard Jefferson is reportedly available. "RJ's out there," one GM insists. "He's been out there for a while." "They're quietly shopping him," a second GM said. "I've been hearing that he and Jason aren't getting on too well," another said.

kidd must be a surly individual...because he seems to suddenly not get along with people all the time. Even more so than marbury. Heck, he's been traded just as often.
all kool aid all the time.

trading RJ is an awful idea unless NJ gets an all-star or near all-star big man. Troy "no defense" Murphy doesn't count!

rj is barely an all star himself.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Not Jason "I am the point guard who every teammate loves and I make everyone better except my wife when I have to lay the smack down" Kidd???

You mean the former best pg is not getting along with someone. I truly thought that Steph had a monopoly on that.

well, he does actually make everyone better...and he wins. remember killa, when you win, nobody cares about all that BS. but when you don't, it comes to the forefront. kind of like how i deal with steph and you deal with lb.

Trading RJ for Troy and pietrus is a no brainer. Golden state wants to make changes and bringing in rj to run with Jason Richardson would be awesome. They need a true small fwd more than anything and they have too many power fwds.

The nets get a real 4 that can hit the open jumper and rebound within an uptempo set. Pietrus would fill in and give the kid they drafted last year a run for his money.

I would love to see this happen. Not sure if it works with the CBa, but it would be great from a basketball sense.

And on the iverson front? If they are gonna keep brown then go after iverson, period.

Sucks but DJ is right. Winning solves everything. People will forget all your faults if you can win. Up until Kidd became a Net, Kidd was a royal *******. A wife beater. Now he has the world swinging from his balls.

That's why teammates should never swing together. Didn't he learn anything from the Braxton affairs?

On another note, why come these 3 players are always available every year? I think AI has been available since 2000, Boozer has been available since he signed that Jazz contract and RJ has been available since he signed his deal. Just curious how long can a player remain available if a trade never occurs.

Until they retire. Boozer's been available for a long time because he's overpaid and plays poor defense; Iverson, because he's aging and takes sixty shots per game; RJ, I guess because he's more redundant with VC than a good PF/C would be.

Iverson just turned 31... he's not exactly ready to collect Social Security... he's still a prime player in this league, & the Sixer won't be trading him for anything less than a bonafide star player in return, or a package of very promising young up & comers.
