I read in some posts that some people think Brown could be back as coach next year. I sense that the appearance is that Dolan & Co. will fire Larry or buy him out, and that strikes me as bizarre. What do you think?
Yes, Larry is done. It's just a matter of time
No, Larry will coach the Knicks next season

Isiah is gagged also it would appear.

The lot of them will be unic's around Dolan. Cut their tongue and Johnsons off and he would have the perfect staff!

Isiah's survival instinct guideline # 4080

don't fire Larry till after I steal his notes on the draft.

note: passing on better ball-players (Lowry) so I can say "look I got a shotblocker" (Boone) is why Zaza is a Hawk and Jerome is a Knick

ps: if I make the Ratliff trade and let em dump Miles I get my young athlete to hold and nuture, oh and the team's character and defensive identity raises some points, and did I mention I get my young misguided athlete to hold close to my bosom.

Logic says he's staying, just based on that the Knicks keep telling him to come back to workout with the team. I haven't seen much logic around this team in recent days though.

They're keeping him around to stick it to him and to squeeze some more value out of the $40 mil they'll be forced to give him, Meanwhile, teams like Sacremento are hiring coaches as larry is unavailable. it's not that complicated. Larry is at Dolan's mercy as long as he's under contract.

40 mil to get hassles for a few weeks, big freakin deal. If Dolan thinks he is the winner here he is even dumber then he I thought. Brown must be laughing his behind of. He is gonna get paid by how many teams once somebody hired him this year? Too funny, and Dolan thinks he has his "revenge".
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

It's not a minor thing for Larry. This is the Knicks messing with his life, his vacation, his chances to get the sacremento job and more the longre they keep him. LB would rather be free, and I don't particularly care to help LB along with his future job plans. Let him hang around until the last minute and let him be kicked aside like trash. I don't care that media types like Vescey call it reprehensible. What's reprehensible is architecting yuor own departure from two jobs ina one year period and getting a 50mi Golden Parachute.

I think Larry will coach part of the season, up until he says something defamatory or stupid. At that point he will have used the rope to have hung himself. The less Larry talks to the media the longer he will be here.

I think Dolan wants Larry out. But Zeke may be trying to change Dolan's mind, thinking that Larry is his best chance to get out of this mess alive.

I don't think Isiah needs Larry's notes on the draft. he might want his notes on who to trade and how to coach this team...

This has to be the closest thing to what may be going on that I actually believe. I think the whole not talking to each other is overrated. Maybe Zeke realizes he is the one who put LB in this position (maybe his starphucking trades, maybe Larry didn't get the leway he was promised, maybe Zeke underestimated Dolan's insolence...). I think it is just as viable a theory that Zeke isn't talking to Larry because he is afraid and emabressed to for putting Larry through this.

yeah, I don't think Isiah is talking to Larry, which is a mistake if he wants him to stay - he should at least call him and say, "sit tight, I'm trying to work a trade that will make sense for everyone and let Dolan calm down." I mean, who knows, maybe Isiah HAS called Larry. I think there is a sh!tload going on behind the scenes right now. I think Zeke is definitely trying to calm Dolan down and work a draft trade for Marbury or Francis. draft night should be veeeeery interesting.

I had the same thoughts. By all accounts I have always heard that Brown was a terrible scout and young talent evaluator. King allowed him to work players out, so did Walsh but didn't rely on his talent assessment. Brown didnt' think that much of LBJ and Anthony. He agreed with Dumars on Darko after working him out. Said that Darko will have a bigger impact than either LBJ and Anthony. He wasn't impress with Bosh either. He did like Wade though. He gave a run down on the NBA draft 2003 on NBATV along with Frank Layden.

Thomas told Brown that the entire season. He told that to Brown's agent JOe Glass when the reports first hit after the season. This has been all Brown, who demanded a sit down with Dolan, when told/informed that it is bad form to ask to sit down with the owner when the GM is your direct boss, Brown changed his stance and said he wanted Thomas there too. Coaches, players, front office personel are often the subject of rumors, Brown is the only person that I know that needs to hear good things on a constant basis. Even his own wife and friend said the man is insecure about himself. I guess Thomas should tell him "You doing a heck of a job there Brownie"
