i read the few shindings about lowry, but while Marcus Williams isnt the defender kyle is, doesnt have the same speed or athletsicm--he has the brains we lack, he KNOWSW how to get others into position to score--he gets the ball UPCOURT very quickly. we need aleader and kyle lowry isnt going to be a top 10 rotation player--imho marcus williams is better than stephon marbury for this TEAM right now.

if there is anyway, anyway what so ever where we could move marbury or francis in the package for 6 and entice NO to take pick 20 for JR smith, it will IMPACT the team for a LONG time

they are under some pressure to win now with KG there...or else he will demand a trade.

similar to pierce's statements about the celtics trading away the #7 pick.

but boston is willing to trade pierce b/c they can still survive as a franchise. minny on the other hand is a completely different story...

I think if Minny can come out of this off-season w/ the additions of Marbury & Rudy Gay, they'd be happy.

Marcus silliams/nate/craw
JR smith/craw
Q rich/ Q woods, lee
Frye/ butler,lee
Curry/ butler

this is not a bad rotatation. very young, but marcus williams and JR smith is not a bad backcourt..

I think Marbury to Minnesota is still very possible. Draft night will be interesting. I have to say though, adding JR would kind of come out of left field.

trades can happen today, it doesn't have to wait till draft night so if a trade has been agreed to already, it can be completed anytime.

But sometimes due to slary cap restrictions or when teams want a certain player with a certain pick, they make the other trading team take the player they want so they are assured of trading for the player they want as opposed to settling for what's available.

that's true. but if we're moving steph, and minny is willing to give us #6 - it shouldn't matter who's available at that pick.

the top 6 in this draft are b-ninny, la, ty, morrison, gay, and roy. we could use any one of those guys.

yup. and sometimes teams hold out til the last possible minute to wait for a better offer.

we may hear rumors before then, but I think we get some sort of draft night shocker this year. not sure if that is a good thing or not, but hopefully it is.

If Toronto trades down with Charlotte and takes Marcus
Chicago takes Aldridge or Ty
Charlotte takes Gay
Portland takes Roy or Morrison
ATL takes B-Ninny or Roy....

The worst case scenario is b-ninny (no way he helps us this year)falls to us or Aldridge falls to us(another developing big). In which case we would have to reach on a player (Foye? Carney? Shelden?) that we don't really want. I would have to admit though at least Carney is a SF.

I would take Roy, Marcus Williams or Shelden Williams at 6. but I really think if anything happens, it will be draft night at earliest. I'm also not convinced we'll get a lotto pick for Steph. we certainly didn't give up a lotto pick for Steph and his value was a lot higher when we acquired him. I know Minnie is desperate, but I dont know that they're THAT desperate.

From where I am sitting Minny is already bent over the barrel and tied up. Seriously, they have crap to trade for someone will help KG more than Ricky Davis is-they need a top tier guy-for basically crap other than the 6 pick. The way I see it we are the ONLY team that maye be able to swing a mutually beneficial trade with them.

Marbury's value is so low around the league right now we'd be lucky to get a package like Sacramento got for Webber. the only thing working in our favor on a Marbury to Minnie deal is that KG is desperate for one last shot and he supposedly still likes Marbury and Minnie SEEMS to be commited to trying one last time with KG.
