no way Shawne Williams falls to 29. we'd be lucky to snag him at 20. my dream draft is Shawne at 20 and Boone at 29.

and his atheletic ability, and the fact that he can touch the rim standing, and that he dominated the US prospects(15 pts, 9 blocks, 6 rebounds), and because he has a ton of potential, and he does the things we need- blocks and rebounds.

I don't think we need another center. Frye, Curry, Butler and JJ have it covered. we need a burly, defensive PF.

Marco Killingsworth is absurdly disproportioned.

These african Centers who play overseas are for the birds. Exactly how many of them have made it in the NBA with their 90 foot wing spans????? I hope Isiah doesn't pick him.

I think AFrican players (Mainly centers) have not been as bad as you think:

Dikembe and Olajuwan are headed for the HOF...that's not so bad. Manute Bol was a decent player, and I think Desagana Diop will be fairly decent as well.

On the downside?

Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje, Yinka Dare, D.J. Mbenga, Soumaila Samake, Olumide Oyedeji, Michael Olowokandi, Peter Aluma, Ekezie, Julius Nwosu, Julius Obinna, Boniface N'Dong, Makhtar Ndiaye, Mamadou Ndiaye, Pape Sow, Deng Gai.

Most of those guys Were supposed to be fringe players with the exception of Olowokandi and Yinka Dare.

And the non-center african born players aren't so bad:

Luol Deng, Steve Nash

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Yeah, but Manute, Dikembe and Olajuwan played college ball in the states. Diop came from highschool right??? so that could be considered the same as coming from over seas league, so I can't say always. I'll say they almost never work out.

The African Centers who play overseas are usually too thin and can't handle the banging. They sit on the end of the bench and people talk about their "wing span" being so great, but that means nothing because they can't handle a 6'foot point guard getting to their chest during a layup. You don't even need to say what happens when a 260pound Forward/Center gets their shoulders in these penciles.
I don't think we the knicks need one of those guys on the bench........... those sit have been taken already.

i thought sene was impressive going against the very top amateur american players. You cant teach what he has 7-0 with a wingspan that makes him play 4-6 inches taller. Hes raw on the offensive end but i dont see why he cant be as good as Dalembart pretty darn quickly---and even play some right off the bat. I think he can do what Diop does right now, meaning being a real pest around the rim and we could use that, even off the bench.

Shawne Williams? Pls...no more draft picks on guys who should be better than they are but are held back by their own effort & IQ limitations.

You want Sene at 20? Fine.

Give me Mardy Collins, Mike Gansey... a guy like that @ 29.

I still really like Justin Williams a shotblocker...I think he could be another Ratliff, though he's come in about an inch shorter and 10-15 pounds lighther than where Ratliff entered the league. He's a one skill player but that one skill really is elite and I think he could find a way to stick in an NBA rotation because of it.
