The Brown-Isiah-James Dolan sitcom has overshadowed the Knicks' draft interests. Indications are they've zeroed in on Memphis small forward Shawne Williams, Temple sturdy guard Mardy Collins - who's compared to Aaron McKie - Michigan State shooting guard Shannon Brown, Michigan State combo guard Maurice Ager and UConn power forward Hilton Armstrong, of Peekskill, for their 20th pick.
At 29, the Knicks have heavy interest in UConn junior 6-10 shot-blocker Josh Boone. A rumor running around Storrs is the Knicks gave Boone a commitment at 29. Last week, Boone, a solid shot-blocker with little offensive game, announced he would remain in the draft, leading to speculation he got a first-round guarantee. nypost.com
Collins can also play the 3, so he would fit a type of need. Here is the thing, if Zeke is here to coach, I think most of the guys are back...If Brown is back a draft of guys like Collins and Boone make sense as opposed to trading for guys like Snow and Ratliff....

I would try like hell to get Shawne Williams and Sar Sene for the reasons DJ mentioned. Nobody is getting playing time next year, so get a couple project players that in 2-3 years can be very good. Wait for the jerkoffs to come off the cap and go from there. Or we could just keep trading expiring contracts for Kmart and Zach and add as many guys with 5 years left on their deals as possible. Thats a plan too
I gotta ask because I don't know, but is Williams worth it.....to me it's like every year these 6-9 multi-purpose small forwards that leave school too early come out.....like Marvin Williams, Rudy Gay...is it for value to draft someone like that when a Steven SMith or a Marcus Slaughter may go undrafted or we pick up a cheap 2nd rounder for cash and take them then?

we need a pure SF, a defensive PF and a pure PG. they don't all have to come from the draft, they just need to FIT with the rest of the talent and make sense. We have a decent talent base, the draft and subsequent trades have to be about making it all make sense together.

Hey Fish. Your just like me. Allways tempted by the black international freak athletes.
First it Badaine, then its Petro, Now its Sene. One day we are going to get our wish and take a chance on one of these type of prospects.
Collins would be a great PG next to Crawford & Nate(Marbury). If they were to draft him they would need to dump one of them though.
Williams I don't know. He seems like he has potential. The draftexpress workout didn't seem to favorable. While NBAdraft.net strengths make it seem like he is what we need. He reminds me of Q2.
