May be old news, but I thought I'd still post that information I found on an other board.

Besides Amare and Kobe changing the only other players I've heard switching numbers are Nate Robinson (from 4 to 8), Malik Rose (13 to 31), and Jerome James (31 to 13) all of the Knicks.

I doubt the number switching will improve their sorry games.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Great all we need, another person concerned with image instead of improving their game. Nate is going to be a second year player and should be concentrating more on honing his skills rather then changing his number from 4 to 8 so he can call himself N8.

I doubt N8 has spent more then 10 minutes thinking about he's number change. Who cares what what he wants his number to be, you think Ben wallace doesn't care about his image with that damn fro??? It's not either one orthe other.

Seriously, Nate robinson was the best rookie 2 guard last year, what more do you want????

He thought about it enough to change his number after one year in the NBA.

What more do I want? The celebrating becuase you dunked the ball when your team is down by 20+ to be out of his game would be nice.

Most knicks fan cry about towels and "heart" or fight, so why is this an issue with Nate??? YOu know he cares and he wants to win. YOu know he dosen't slack off because of how much his team is losing or where the game is being played. How is being too excited and negative???? MOre players need Nates "Problems".

New guy getting loud about a number change post, interesting...

I'll tell you what I want from Nate, consistent defense and to keep his head in the game. Picking up guys at half court and applying pressure. Not watching Iverson eat him up and think its "cool" because he had big game. I love Nate's heart, but he has A LOT to learn and being image conscious is not at the top of the list.

For the record, the league only had number change requests from 2 players by the deadline, Kobe & Amare. I've heard the same stuff about NAte and JJ, but I don't think its happening this year.

What's the big deal about changing numbers? It doesn't affect play, so what. Didn't Greg Anthony change from #2 to #50? I think Stacy Augmon also changed number too.

Greg Anthony, LJ and Augmon all used 2 coming out of college as a tribute to Jerry Tarkanian. Greg changed to his old number after the 1st or 2nd season.

I'm with Anji. Who cares if Nate wants to be #8 and who cares what the reason is? He's turning into a better basketball player and he competes his ars off. If he continues to learn, then that's great by Nate the Great. Nate is the least of my worries right now.

BTW, Kobe on the other hand is dumb but I"ve thought that for years now.
