We'll see. This isn't the first time Marv thought a "superior" 7 footer was gonna get the best of Dirk and Dallas

Dirk hit a fadeaway to end the half and the Mavs have a two point lead. Jason Terry has played like a monster so far.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I don't care who wins this series. Both teams are fun to watch, for the hardcore bball fan that is. But so far, it seems that Dallas is winning the battle of the bench and role players so far. If Dampier can continue to battle Shaq like he has today, and Dallas wins, he earns that big paycheck.

Hmmm... I sure don't want the Heat to win, especially with Zo, Walker and Payton on the team. I still remember the Miami/Knicks rivalry like it was yesterday.

Dallas plays with no PGs

they have guys who can take you off the dribble/and can create their own shot all over the place--they share the ball very well/they can mix and match playing styles with their incredible depth[10-11 deep/rotation]and thats why they won 60 despite being ravaged with injury---quality depth and defense. when they have diop/dampier out their with dirk howard van horn---that is a LOT of length to get by, especially in a zone.

Miami kind oif blew this game as their intensity level was poor after the first 16 minutes

They have to get shaq 15+ shots--they cant turn the ball over that much and shaq has to atleast go 40% from the line

miami's D was ATROCIOUS they couldnt find their man on simple screens

Cube and company had a vision.

No nash and with Damp. We all laughed last year, but look at them now!

I like a good win-win. Dallas and Phx got what they needed to succeed.

We made it all possible. Isiah has hitched his future to Marbury. "brilliant!"

briggs your comments concerning dallas is really on the money. avery gets some credit too. jerry stackhouse on espn came to say if avery johnson told them to attack a brick wall, that brick wall would have to have a soft spot. larry only needs to see what avery is doing to turn things around in new york

I predicted Dallas in 5 or 6 at the series start. Johnson gets some credit but its Dallas's ability to score repeatedly on broken plays (through Terry, Howard, Dirk and Stackhouse) and in transition that wins games for them.

As I said before, Harris on Wade is the Dallas trump card. Riley will regret Haslem on Dirk and Walker on Howard at some point.

It's, like, when a player is not very far out or groovy with the other cats on the team - he gives off bad vibes, dig?

that's exactly right.

in walker's case, it's a guy who takes untimely 3's, hurting his team's chances of sustaining momentum when thy're trying to claw back into the game. also tries to do more with the ball than his skills can support - too much dribbling, trying for too fancy of passes, trying to beat ball pressure on his own instead of giving it up - resulting in more turnovers at crucial times, again killing momentum. ignoring the need to fill a role - feed shaq, fill a lane, fight for offensive rebounds, push for postition in the post and take advantage of his nice skills down there. instead, he's trying to be a flashy high-skilled player, failng at it, costing his team possesions, costing them momentum and contributing strongly to a loss.

to me he brings that bad vibe to too many games of trying to overtax his flashier skills while abandoning the role he could play to really help his team.

his first couple of years in the league he was one of my favoirite players. i thought he was fashioning his game after another celtic great and one of the all-time good-vibe players - cornbread maxell. maxwell wouild drive other teams crazy in the post - great rebounder on both boards, strong defender, and owner of a million jukes and dekes in the post. and a real hard worker, in the '84 finals against LA, it was maxwell who led the team, not bird. maxwell issued the statement, "c'mon climb on my back guys and i'll carry us to the win." then worked his butt off doing the dirty work, and being the mvp of their championship.

walker abandoned that role and becaome a 3-point chucker and overdribbler and a guy who wouldn 't take advantage of his skills down low.

anyone agree or disagree?

anyone agree or disagree?

DISAGREE!!!

To use the first game of the Finals as evidence of Walker as a bad-vibe player is unfair. Walker has been right in the middle of this run for the title, picking up the slack whenever needed, and carrying the team offensively for short periods of time when Wade or Shaq weren't. Was he a bad-vibe player throughout the first 3 rounds?

Yes, he missed a bunch of threes in the last game, but he was also a part of many a good play.

I disagree with the characterization of Walker as the ultimate chucker. The man does what his coach asks him to do. If Riley did not want Walker shooting threes, Walker would have been yanked.

I think there is too much concentration on his 3 point shooting. He is not an efficiency player, he is a playmaker.

Has anyone noticed that he is the most creative passer on the Heat? And for a guy who is always out on the perimeter, he gets his fair share of rebounds! He is also an emotional leader, I have seen the Heat rally around his energy many times during the playoffs.

in walker's case, it's a guy who takes untimely 3's, hurting his team's chances of sustaining momentum when thy're trying to claw back into the game. also tries to do more with the ball than his skills can support - too much dribbling, trying for too fancy of passes, trying to beat ball pressure on his own instead of giving it up - resulting in more turnovers at crucial times, again killing momentum. ignoring the need to fill a role - feed shaq, fill a lane, fight for offensive rebounds, push for postition in the post and take advantage of his nice skills down there. instead, he's trying to be a flashy high-skilled player, failng at it, costing his team possesions, costing them momentum and contributing strongly to a loss.

Are you talking about this one past game? Because he did a lot of those things you are describing quite successfully against the Bulls, Nets, and Pistons. Even is he has a horrible series vs. the Mavs, he has had a pretty damn good playoff run.

It seems that many concentrate on Walker's numbers as opposed to the success of the teams he has played on, all of which he has been a big part of. But they want to ignore the good part of his numbers and focus on his percentages only.

Antoine walker has a NCAA National Championship, has been to the playoffs 5 times, the conference finals twice, and now the NBA finals where he has a pretty good chance of getting an NBA title.

That is not a bad vibe player.

If anything, I feel vindicated in my long drawn-out arguments with Marv, Briggs, and Tomverve last summer.

Now stop hating Marv!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
