Free-agent point guard Reggie Evans, who lives in Florida, popped in and said he would entertain a Knick offer July 1. The Knicks attempted to trade for Evans in February but the Sonics dealt him to Denver.

"If they contacted me, my ears would be open," Evans said. "I was aware (of their interest). It's always good when a team wants you. I really appreciated it." NY Post

god do we need him. I dont think people realize how much he could help improve this frontcourt and make Frye/Curry better players.

we can offer the full MLE @ $30 mil but from what i read before, he's looking for a deal starting around $6 mil or so. so it would have to be a s&t involving malik rose.

i think that sounds reasonable... a trade like that makes TONS of sense, but i don't expect DEN to be interested in adding Malik's contract to their cap unless we throw in a pick.

I don't want him playing point guard. I assume it's a typo. His toughness would be nice but we obviously don't need him for his rebounding. What we do need is 1 or 2 shot-blockers.

Denver doesnt have Reggie's Bird rights as far as I know. He was traded in the middle of a one year contract. If he wants more than the MLE its going to have to come from a team with cap space. If he gets it good for him.

We don't need him for his rebounding? Last I checked Eddy Curry was the leading rebounder on the Knicks at 6 per game. Evans is a superb rebounder and will rack up double digit rebounds every game he plays in, something Knicks SORELY need.

no one will offer Evans over the MLE. I think a full MLE is overpaying, but hey when has the ever stopped us before?

Isn't David Lee a better rebounder? Given the minutes, he would have let the team in boards.

I thought we needed a shotblocker (assuming JJ has not seen the light) and a point guard (assuming, well, just assuming).

I think we are kind of PF heavy at the moment, but dealing malik would be worth it.

Malik is a man without a place.

I read he was named to the all overachieving underachiever team.

Call me a pessimist but my guess is he wants to stay at home and is going to use us as leverage.

On a side note: This is a prediction and if it does not come true it does not mean I am a liar

I have Zero interest in the Nut-Cracker. I'd rather grab Boone at 29 than waste MLE on him. He's a good rebounder, but he doesn't add shot-blocking, horrible freethrow shooter, horrible offensively.....I think given the minutes, Lee can give us most what we might expect for him....No Thanks....

Reggie is saying the right thing. He came buy to rub elbows with GMs and the Press.

The more teams he can get interested the more money he can make.

We are a good rebounding TEAM with no great individual rebounders.

ITs reasonable to think we can draft a tough player like him.

How much better is he than Malik considering the money that is being paid to him?

And who is the coach?

For what reason? He's a rebounding machine and we have absolutely none of that plus he's a strong defensive presence. Only thing that keeps him from being Ben Wallace is that he's not a shotblocker, but if he were, we'd be saying how he's so out of reach now.

I'd love to have him but he's not going to make a difference. They have to make a splash by trading the max contracts.

You guys are too obsessed with individual player stats rather than team effectiveness. Rebounding is one of the very few (sadly) areas where the Knicks outplayed their opponents in a high majority of the games.

boring. i think we can use an athletic shot blcker who can get some rebounds from the 5, but i would rather have a skill player at 4. we already invested time into channing frye and david lee i think these guys can provide the rebounding + much more than evans combined at that position. i would rather see the team become more skilled --the blue-collar area of need is athletic shot blocking everything else--to me is a need for skills

if for some reason two skill players fell into our lap in the draft or one skill player and one athletiuc shot blcker thats cool depends on BPA but i dont see a need for reggie evans on this cluster fcked roster.

id prefer length athletiscm and skill over just a one dimensional rebounder. he didnt take denver very far...did he? we need skill players and a shot blocker
