I keep readon all this "McDone" "he is through" stuff but I think he will be back, it reminds me a lot of Grant Hill and how he struggled, but now he is back (for now) so maybe Dyess will be back and things wont be so bad. It isnt good though, I was excited to see him play - he made things exciting again.

I'd only be worried about Dice if he tore the patella tendon again. Hill was different because he kept having problems directly related to his injury and surgeries. Dice's new injury is just bum luck... totally unrelated to his surgery.

Dude's a workhorse... he'll be back.

Completely false and mis-informed--his left knee now has three majory injuries to the same area in 18 months. there is no freak luck--go back and fined the article I posted about the Cowboy wide receiver---there was obvious instability in the knee regardless of any tests and ON top of that just think about Mcdyess for one minute--he worked his but off rehabbing-played 2 games and poof--what stops the knee from buckling again after more rehab? If he comes back hell comeback with the biggest brace you can wear and Ill guarantee that his play and minutes will be limited. He wil not be dunking over people--thats IF he ever comes back.

"While Layden said the kneecap fracture is "separate from prior injuries," an orthopedist interviewed said the area is all connected and a prior patella tendon tear can weaken other areas in the kneecap. McDyess also missed the last 11 games of the 2000-2001 season with a dislocated kneecap. "

bottom line is, he should have been more careful, and I wonder why he didnt have a sleeve or a brace protecting the knee at all? That might have added some stability to it...

Or why is he palying 38 minutes in a pre-seaon game????? why is he in there with 1:15 to go? The Knicks would ahve treated him like an Egg in pre-sean and give him as litte contact as possible.

Yes an orthopedist who has nothing to do with the situation! Some random doctor interveiwed for the articel. Why aren't you guys referencing the actual doctors who've seen the x-rays?

If we are in any sort of playoff race, i think we should try to get him back by march. If not let him get in a few games at the end to see what he can do, similar to last season. Then we'll just have to hope for the best the following year and hopefully we'll end up a lot more talented because of it.
