I am beginning to see a resurrection of the love of the good guy and not for the warrior knick. So I ask you, who had better playoff performances as a knick...I think houston had just one, but for some reason he's on everyone's favorite knick of all time list. While some of you may see this as a stupid poll, but in all honesty, Xavier McDaniel, Derek Harper, Doc Rivers, these are the players that only knick fans love. so... Who had the better playoff moments as a knick?
Starks
Houston

Mr. John Starks gets the nod here.

Starks' career as a good player was very brief (maybe 3 seasons). Houston was a good shooting guard for a full career. That's why Houston gets more credit from me. Regarding the playoffs, I have a lot of great memories of Starks but an equal # of awful ones.

John Starks wasn't a one dimensional player like Houston was, but they both played great in the Playoffs.

Starks hands down. Houston never have the fans a feeling of running down to the garden to have his back. At least for me. Starks made me wanna wear my knick jersey with pride. I wanted to fight for that dude.

Geez are you kidding me? Starks has a perminant spot on my coach if he ever needs it. I got space reserved in my dresser draw for this mofo!

Starks is family. Nuff said. Houston isn't even a distant cousin.

I'm not gonna derogate Starks but Houston gets more credit than Starks from me. Why is it wishy-washy to give both players credit?

the question was "Who had better playoff moments as a knick?" & you answered "well, houston had a better career overall, but as far as playoffs go, starks had just as many bad moments as good moments"... so basically, you sidestepped the question... that's why he eViL called your response wishy washy.

Allan had a sigular better moment.

Starks had more smaller ones.

Starks could have been an Icon if he clutched just one moment!

tough one... Houston had a hell of a lot more good moments than the Miami floater. I love Starks, always have but does anyone else feel like the Knick playoff killers were guys that were getting the best of Starks? Jordan, Reggie, Veron Maxwell, Voshon Lenard?

I'm gonna go with Houston. It helped to be in the post Jordan era but Houston's teams simply did better and I think he did better also.

Starks playoff totals 96 games 14 points 42% FGs 37% 3ptFGs 3 rebs 4 assists
Houston's playoff totals 63 games 19 points 45% FGs 42% 3ptFGs 3 rebs 2.2 assists

IMO Houston was simply a better playoff performer, and had more big games than John. Man, could we use BOTH of them right now

It doesn't look like I'm the only one who didn't focus exactly on the poll question. When I said "Houston gets more credit from me," I meant it as an answer to the question but should have said so. (I.e., Houston gets more credit for playoff sucess.)

I think Houston, but not just because of the runnner. Because he completely embarrased Reggie in 1999. Someting I waited years to see, after all the **** he pulled against us. I was so proud to finally have someone completely dominate him.

That's payback for the push on Greg Anthony in our house! That was payback for Ewings missed fingeroll in Indy. Man, I hated Miller..

gr33d... agree 100%. That wasnt the only time Houston had that kind of performance. He KILLED Bruce Bowen in those Miami Series. He was simply better than Reggie. He gets knocked for being a "soft" defender but H2O had as tough a killer instinct as anyone, and he showed it in the playoffs

I voted Houston. Both players had some great playoff moments.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I voted Starks but it's close. I think Starks stepping up and battling Jordan helped to galvanize our team when Patrick couldn't carry us. To me Allan really only had one good playoff run. Although he does own one of the biggest shots in our history. Love them both but the nod goes to Starks for me.
I just hope that people will like me
