Isiah said he's committed to playing Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis together. Hey, Francis isn't the problem; it's a time-honored fact Marbury can't play together with anyone.

"Stephon is the worst teammate I've ever had," Tim Thomas told me an hour after the Suns had eliminated the Clippers, echoing the sentiments of Jayson Williams, Keith Van Horn, Kurt Thomas and several Suns and Knicks who wish to remain anonymous. "We grew up together, yet the whole time I was with the Knicks he never talked to me. Not once. Not until I was traded did he say anything. When I was leaving he came over and gave me an I-Pod he'd bought as a going-away present. He even installed hip hop music. They don't come any weirder!"

Okay that's weird...the I-Pod, I mean, not the fact that many players have trouble getting love from Starbury

Ah, I have mixed feelings about that. I'm sure TT is right that Steph is a terrible teammate, but any leader on a team should treat like $hit a superstar talented player who plays like $hit (except in contract years).

No....a leader gets the superstar talented player to play like a superstar telented player should.

Please. It wasn't TT's contract year. Magic Johnson couldn't have done that.

With Marbury TT turns ultra Gazy.

With Nash, he is near all-star player.

Leaders make those around them better. They communicate and glavanize the team into a better unit.

Nothing to mix here bonnie, its really quite clear.

So is it safe to say that all of Fugazy past teammates weren't leaders?

fugazy is fugazy. the dude's lasting legacy for his career is bringing the word fugazy into knicks' fans everyday vernacular.

with that said, he's not the first to talk about teammate steph in a negative light...

nobody's perfect but it's tough to be disliked by many former/current teammates, especially being a point guard.

steph's statement last monday was a final plea. nobody within the organization is probably talking to him so he talked to berman to put his plea out there. it's funny b/c that's what's going on with the head coach also.

well where they? For pretty much all his time in Mil he was a bench (overpaid) player behind Casell, Glen Robinson and Ray Allen. Those were good teams and TT was a key player in several good playoff runs.
Its not just Marbury though, he just one guy. Its the whole organization. Everyone that comes here just gets the life sucked out of them, and the minute guys leave they start doing things they havent done in years. I mean did Tim Thomas ever hit double digit rebounds for us?

LOL!! So now we want to hold Nash and Steph accountable for Tim Thomas? Okay, so its Steph's fault Tim was fugazy. And I guess its every other teammates fault in the league that Tim played like a biyatch. Or is Steph the only one you'd like to hold accountable?

People can't seem to figure out that it's the culture of our organization that is killing us. The life sucked out of them is absolutely right. People don't come here to play ball. they come here to be lazy, make excuses and blame the coach. Until we get players in here that want to play regardless of the circumstances we will always be watching laziness, making excuses and firing the coach. Too many malcontents will not win.
I just hope that people will like me

Nash is accountable. He made his mates better. Steph sucks the life out of them. TT got his issues but some players inject goodness.

I agree with that in general, but I think it has little relevance to a TT discussion because he is lazy everywhere he goes when he's not in a contract year.
And the other post about Sam Cassel and Glenn no defense Robinson playing ahead of him? Please. As for Sam...I'm still trying to figure out how a 6'10" frontcourt player is somehow playing "behind" your team's PG.
TT has ten times the athletic ability of Glenn. That shouldn't even matter, though. TT has the 6'10" body to be a dominant PF and play with Glenn on the court. Imagine how good this lineup would be:

PG: Sam Cassel in his prime years
SG: Ray Allen in prime
SF: Glenn Robinson in prime
PF: 6'10" Tim Thomas playing with heart

Didn't TT blame Casselll, Allen, & Big dog for not blowing up. Then Ray Allen or Sam Cassell responded that Tim Thomas could have been the best player on the team. But Tim Thomas didn't want to be the best player on the team. Or something like that.

Anyway. What TT's role in Pheniox. Run up and down the floor and shoot when he gets the pass from Nash. He is allowed to be an inconsistant rebounder. He is allowed to not play to much defense. With the knicks we NEEDED him to pick up his rebounding. And we NEEDED him to pick up his defense. TT is a role player with the makeup to be an allstar. But you can't put allstar responsibilities on him. You have to put him in a position of strength. Limit his role and responsibilites to that of only offensive role player and he will shine.

Put Marbury on another team. Where he doesn't have to run the PG duties, play great defense, or be the leader of the team & counted on to make everyone better. Just be an offensive role player at Guard and he would shine to.

sounds like 3rd fiddle next to Yao and T-Mac.

Steph for Skip + fillers and the 9th pick

Only contract that would work would be ...

Boobbury for J. Howard(3Years), Alston(4Years), Sura(2years), #8 pick...

Maybe...Blubbury has 3 years on his contract so we are just spreading the albatross contract to 3 parts.

I'll be impressed w/ gazy when he does this in a non-contract year and for a sustained period. Marbs has not been a good teammate to be sure, but just b/c he bashes him doesn't give TT the instant credibility he seems to have found w/ you guys.
