Maybe things will quell down if we get Williams to play PG and trade Francis to Denver for Kenyon Martin + 08 pick?

Use 20 on Shawne Williams 6-9 F

29 James White 6-7 G

I'd trade them either Marbury or Francis for the #6 pick and try and get Marcus Williams if available or a nice SF like Rudy Gay since we're kind of weak at the SF position. I don't know if I'd want to trade both Marbury and Francis since you're not gonna get very much for either. I'd rather try and move one of those 2 and Q1 and have a Crawford/Marbs or Crawford/Francis backcourt.

I think we have to realize Marbury probably isn't getting traded. As future coach, Thomas is still committed to winning now and probably hoping JO or KG becomes available. Considering this year's playoffs in particular, i think it's proven that you need superstars to win. The closest thing we have to superstars is Marbury and Francis, and therefore like it or not, i think we are going to keep them. If we can trade Frye, Rose, etc for JO or KG, IT will do it. Otherwise he builds the team around Marbury, Francis, Curry, and Frye and trys to put the right role players around them.

I dont think Shawne Williams falls to 20 and James White does nothing for me. I would also like to sign Marcus Banks if we do a Sota/Marbury deal. Pass first PG and possible the best defender at that position right now.

I would definately trade either Marbury or Francis for that #6 if Minny is interested. I still would rather draft Lowery as our PG but I would take Williams as well. Could draft Brandon Roy or O'Bryant at 6 and then take Lowery at either 20 or 29.

Either way, yes I'd surely make that trade.

Im just trying to be realistic at 29. I was not a big White fan, but he did refine his game quite a bit this year--he was quietly a very effecient player against tough competition and can play 1-2-3[he actually played PG his junior year for half the year at cincy]

Im looking at Pheonix and Dallas--and with these new rules--these athletic 6-7+ players have more room to operate and both of these guys have the physical talents to be good nba players.

Im more inlicned to stay away from the PFs position and small guards[except shannon brown]

if there is any darn way we could get Marcus he would make these types of players--as well as Curry Frye Lee Woods--guys who can finish look very good-he gets the ball to players where they want it where they can use their talents to finsish

I think my theme for this draft is do what I have to do--what I can do if it has any rhelm of possibility--to get Marcus Williams to play PG for us. Hes the player we need for the parts that are here long term. Minny wants to trade that 6 pick to keep KG happy and I think we have the pieces to do it.


fihmike if you can get NO to give up JR Smith for cash[3mm] and pick 29 Id be happy with that to:>0

I think it is possible to get Williams at 20.

I think there's been about 3 threads a week for 6 months now about either Marbury or Francis for Minny's lottery pick with some other stuff involved
