fishmike, I think that team looks good and I would buy into that, however, I think a lot of that has very little chance of happening. I just don't that Isiah would want to buyout an expiring contract (He loves trading them all!) and the whole organization seems to love Malik Rose. Obviously the reality of that happening is quite low, but if it does, i'd be thrilled. It's amazing that how on paper, our Knicks look pretty good, but reality shows that they are horrible.

All jokes aside. I don't think Q-Rich should start anymore less at 2 guard. His offense was horrible for the most part and it wasn't all Marbury. He had a spurt or two but he couldn't even knock down open jumpers. I think the situation at the 2 guard is just as important at the pg spot. Crawford is perfect for the bench as a combo guard. I don't about playing Rose there either. Based on conversations with him, I am not counting on too much from him either.

There is a big contract discrepancy in regards with money between Francis and Josh Smith. Atlanta has about $20Million under the cap. Is that enough to make the deal? OR do you have to trade contract for contract?

In any case, that is a lot of assets to give out for a one dimensional player.

josh smith is going to be a STAR...and b/c of that, i don't know if they'll trade him.

they may do francis + both #1's for #5...which i would do in a HEARTBEAT.

I think our only chance of moving either Francis or Boobbury is to Memphis for Eddie Jones and their 1st RD pick. Maybe we can pry Warrick from the Logo.

I would cry tears of joy. I think the FAAAAAR more likely trade is Francis for S&T Al Harrington.

I'd love to get Smith, but no way that gets the deal done. I don't care much for Evans, and you're not gonna get Jackie Butler for so little. That's ok, b/c you can use some of the MLE money to bring back Jackie. For a comporable see Zaza Pachulia, who earned himself a 4 yr/ 16 mil deal at a very similar point in his development.

what I envision is an ultra long and fast lineup with Josh Smith, Lee, Crawford and Frye playing together with either a playmaker or a banger.

Nothing I wouldnt give up to get Josh here. If both #1's and Francis doesnt get it done (along w/ cash) you start reaching. I dont know what else we have that's desirable. Frye? I would do it. I think Frye is a more replaceable player than Josh Smith. In one more year Smith will be totally unreachable, so its now or never.

Agreed DJ... to me this is about taking a shot at a young budding star, which is what I see JS as.

i would trade frye for josh smith also.
and i may be in the minority here...but i may also trade him for tyrus thomas who would be a much better fit next to eddy.

and please. trade frye for tyrus thomas!?!!??!!?? for what? what in heavens name has tyrus thomas ever done to prove he's nothing more then Kwame brown or Dan Gadzuric? Yeah might be good, but so what? the hype on this guy is a joke. Its completely beyond me as to why people are so willing to jump straight into his joke. Does noone else realize that Jerome James has had more good games then Tyus Thomas? I'm not saying he's going to stink, but where the heck is the hype coming from? its ridiculous!

First off, you can't just compare hyped prospects like Kwame Brown to Tyrus. Tyrus has 100X more heart than Kwame. He's extremely intense on the court, and will likely be a lot better than Swift.

i never ever said we were 1 SF away from having a good team... but i do want to see moves made that make sense & follow a plan... the moves fish suggested are reasonable & don't mortgage the future for an imaginary run at a title next year.

Nobody didn't know that Kwame didn't have the moxy to be one of the best. I remember when scouts were raving about him and his skill set. Now they make Jordan look foolish but count about every would be scout up there too. That's why I laugh when I hear people on this forum have the nerve to say yeah Frye's ceiling is low but Bynum is capable of being a franchise player. Just you are young, agile and fast means that you can play in the NBA. Its a crap shoot. Heart and upside are just more pretty words used around draft time.

you ever seen Stro play? He dunks like Shawn Kemp, I've watched him block 8 shots, in a half. Intesity and heart arent the problem. You just dont know
