the knicks get some respect in the future is if they don't trade anybody, let all the contracts expire, and build a young core (frye, lee, nate and curry is a start). We have no chemistry because there is so much change in the roster. Look at all the teams with chemistry, the pistons (when is the last time the starting 5 changed), the Spurs (kept all the main peices together), the Mavs (dirk, stack, terry, howard- been that way for 2 years). If we draft collins and sene we have to keep the group together- Collins, Craw, Lee, Frye, Sene, Curry and let them develop TOGETHER. Maybe a free agent here and there if we get under but nothing else. Look at Chicago, a good team, hinrich, deng, gordon, noicioni, (soon to be aldridge and ODEN) are all young and are there for a long time. We could be them if we just did nothing but draft.

PLEASE ISIAH, NO MORE TRADES UNLESS FOR PICKS OR SALARY DUMPS

and it will be a long term process.

we don't have a franchise stud yet (maybe frye) and those type of guys are usually drafted. we don't have too many lotto picks coming up so we have to be patient.

I think we'd be well served to trade some of our low character veterans for high character guys. The younger your team is the more important good leadership and role models are.

I think the Knicks will get respect if they can get some competent leadership, develop a long term strategy, and develop an identity.

So we're at least 5 years away from respect.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I don't think there will be major changes this off season- if the keepers are Marbs, Crawford, possibly Q-Rich, Frye, Curry, Nate, David lee, then really we'd have pretty much the same core guys back- just a few modifications bench wise and at the SF spot and we'll hopefully be a lot better.

We hoped Layden would do the same thing. We hoped Isiah would have done similar. Its not the knick way.
