According to draft express, on Tuesday the Knicks will be working out:

Josh Boone
Cedric Simmons
Mardy Collins
Shannon Brown

Anyone have any opinions about these players?

apparently shannon has been very impressive so far. don't know much about mardy but from what i've read, he hasn't worked out well. has simmons signed an agent yet? i didn't see much of him in college either. boone is pretty solid, everyone knows about him.

Cedric Simmons: His #s don't look that great though.

NBA Comparison: Nene

Strengths: Talented bigman with great length and fluidity ... Tremendous shot blocker due to his huge wingspan (7'4") and quick leaping ability ... Disruptive and active defensively ... Has the size to play center and power forward on the next level ... Uses back to the basket post moves and is showing great progress in his ability to score posting up ... Has developed an effective jump hook ... Displays solid toughness inside. Does not shy away from contact ... Plays hard, good energy ... Terrific rebounder due to his long arms and leaping ability ... Has great hands ... Very fast in the open court, great transition player ... Tremendous feet, his foot speed allows him to rebound out of position and cover a lot of ground defensively ... His body is on it's way. When he adds another 10-15 pounds, he's going to be very tough to contend with inside ... Attacks the basket well ... Has good touch around the basket ... Solid free throw shooter who showed great improvement from his freshman year ... Still very raw, but has great upside and a willingness to work hard to improve ... Vision and passing skills are above average for a post ...

Weaknesses: Still developing offensively ... Lacks great range and a consistent jump shot from any distance ... Offensive game is still a work in progress ... Shows excellent flashes, but lacks any real go-to moves ... Strength is not a major issue, but he should get stronger to become more effective inside on the next level ... Consistency will improve with experience ... Not a great ball handler. Lacks a real face the basket game, but has the shooting touch to add 12-15 foot jumpshot ... His court sense and feel for the game can improve ...

ooooo wowww!

low 1st round SUPASTOZZZ!
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Bob are you that dense to think that it matters where a person is drafted to predict their impact in the league?

cedric simmons = steven hunter
josh boone = 6'11" version of Jamaal Magliore (who is 7'1")
shannon brown = doug christie (when he entered the league, not as the polished version in Sacramento)
mardy collins = aaron mckey

Mardy Collins was terrific vs. Duke. Really jumped out at me as a versatile player with good size & a nice b-ball IQ.

Limited offensively ... Scores a majority of his baskets on dunks, put backs and shots around the basket ... Struggles from the free throw line ... Can get down on himself when things aren't going well, needs to become better composed ... Not a superstar prospect, his upside is limited somewhat by his offensive shortcomings ... Needs to develop better offensive post moves ... Must develop a consistent mid range jump shot ... A little rigid in his upper body, not fluid with his ball skills ...

No to Josh Boone

I think Josh should go back to school to work on skills--he runs the floor very well, but his basketball skills need imense polishing.

There is a 6-10 player that has gone under the radar that could be a catch at 29--solomon jones. I was very impressed with him last year--hes very athletic for his size --has a nice touch on his shot+he can block shots/rebound @ 6-10 with that type opf athletsicm and burgeoning skill sets. I think hes going to be a real catch for a team late 1 early 2.

I like Jones. Seems a bit underweight for the 4/5 but he plays hard none the less.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

With all due respect, we'd want Josh Boone for defense (former B.E. defensive player of the year) & rebounding. Blue collar stuff. If & when the offensive ability comes, its GRAVY.

One requirement for Boone: he's got to cut that stupid *** looking "do" he's got.

If I had to choose two I would go with collins and simmons. a shotblocker and an intelligent PG are things that we lack. although now that I think about it both are expected to go before the 20th pick

Slimpack - that would be a nice duo to grab. Really nice. I'd like to think that Collins lasts til 20, but size goes early, so Simmons is likely to be a mid rounder despite a very raw skill set.
