Here is the problem with Isiah, everyone compares Eddy Curry to the draft without looking that its in Minnesota's best interest to trade Garnett this offseason and get chicago's #2 pick with players to be named.

Minnesota has a young two Rasaad McCants, they own the 6th pick, KG isn't taking them anywhere and have a chance to rebuild their frontcourt with the additions of two of the following Gay/Aldridge/Thomas, and they also have a shot at being one of the worst teams in the league with Ricky Davis being their best player......

Why wouldn't Minnesota do the deal.....for instance.....

Randy Foye #6 pick, combo guard and a winner
McCants sg of the future
Deng traded by bulls sf of the future
Thomas/Aldridge starting pf of the future

Thats three young starters and a chance at Greg Oden.....Charlote will be better, Atlanta, the only real competition this team is going to have is Portland for the top overall choice...

The Bulls on the other hand can field the following team

Hinrich/Duhon
Gorden
Nochioni
Garnett/Sweetney
Chandler

I think with Garnett on the market its a done deal......

Next Years Playoff Teams: Pistons, Heat, Cavs, Wizards, Bulls, Nets, Bucks, Pacers/Magic......so we miss the playoffs and the bulls take our pick again and add to an already strong unit.....

chicago can trade for garnett by simply giving up the #2 + #16 or the #2 and one of their young players. they are $20 mil under the cap.

I dont think any of that is enough to get KG. I certainly wouldn't give him up for either of those packages. They would have to package several of their best players and a pick to get KG.

Based on Chicago's moves the past few years, I'd be surprised if they traded for Kevin Garnett. It seems like they are trying to rebuild from within, with young players.

MS - the REAL problem with Isiah is that he caused the Spurs to get Duncan by sabotaging David Robinson with a voodoo doll.

Channing Frye is better than the '06 number one pick. David Lee would be talked about in lottery tones this year.

Isiah is also responsible for WMDs not being found.

I'll be curiolus to see what he does at slot number 20.

Bulls have a decent shot at Jermaine Oneal, but not at Garnett.

And also, I know this might shock people but maybe you've noticed that Garnett has missed the playoffs each of the last two years. He's not the player he once was, he's never had a strong offensive game, can't create his own shot. The zone rules have made it easier to defend him. He's not worth a huge package of young players and picks with his age, contract and the miles on his legs.

People will act like this is heresey, but take a look at any game of his from the last year. KG is done. He only made it out the first round of the playoffs once in his life and that had a lot to do with Sam Cassell, who coincidentally just got the Clippers out of the playoffs for the first time in 30 years.

the guy averages 22/13/4/1.5 last year on 52% shooting & he's done... unbelievable.

you just can't put franchises in a position to get better while your getting worse, he did it for toronto, orlando and chicago....

and garnett has no help and has to play major minutes which the bulls will cut down on because they have the depth, its the only place that has enough to start their rebuilding

he's still a star, but his days of superstar, top three player in the game are long gone. if you watch his games instead of his boxscores you would see.

Thinking about it realistically, why wouldn't the bulls use all of their cap space and give ben wallace a deal and keep all their assets....if they sign him for 3-4 years at 12 million per, he fits right in and they become the best team in the east......the pistons are ****ed if he leaves and they can add frontcourt depth they don't need much scoring at all

Hinrich
Gordon
Nocioni/Deng
Chandler
Wallace/Sweetney

#2 and #16 that team beats anyone in the east

he's 32. money talks

Prince's extension kicks in after this season and Chauncey has a player op after next season. Chi with 18 mill in space can raise the price up.

Isiah's genius will be evident in two or three years, when Orlando, Toronto, and Chicago are competing for championships every year, and the Knicks thrill their fans by making the playoffs and losing in the first round.

But no team can offer him more than Detroit. And Detroit's not gonna let Ben leave so that they can go from being a title contender to a team that exits in the 1st (or maybe 2nd) round. If they were willing to spend about $6 mil per season on McDyess when his health was a complete question mark, surely they'll give Big Ben double that.

You never know Bonn, people do strange things in pro sports, such as leaving title contenders to go to rising teams or already contending teams. Big Ben will be an unrestricted free agent. He can go whereever the hell he wants. With that said, I too think he stays in Detroit. All I'm saying is younever know.

If he wants to go to an up and rising team, he should try to team up with Lebron, Bosh, Wade, Dwight Howard or another rising star. Not Chicago. Toronto and Orlando are under the cap. If he insisted on going to Cleveland or Miami, surely Detroit would be willing to do a sign and trade (so he could get a max contract) rather than lose him for nothing. I don't see him picking Chicago. They have some nice, solid young players that I wish we had, but nothing extremely special like those other teams have. Of course it's not 100% IMPOSSIBLE (nor is him signing anywhere including here for the MLE 100% impossible) but it doesn't follow any logic that he would go to Chicago.

I think Big Ben is the kind of player Pax will make a run at and pay

Flip's style with the more freewheeling offense and gimmicky zones may not be Bens cup of tea for his last contract.

Chicago plays that gritty style of ball hes known through Carlisle-Brown. That perimeter core is top 5 in the league. His addition on that front line plus an offensive threat like Andrea at 2 and a big guard at 16 will give them a legitimate shot at the TITLE.

Big Ben won't latch on to the Shaq-Wade train or Lebron's either.

Orlando is too inexperienced.

He is going to go somewhere with lunchpail guys looking to go from point B to point F

hmmm. I wouldn't rule out him joining any of those clubs I mentioned but you do make a solid case for him considering Chicago
Garnett will be going to the Bulls thanks to Isiah!
