Do you think Ty Thomas should have stayed another year? It seems like though very athletic, very good defensively and a great head (Along with a nose for the ball) that it just seems like he needed maybe another year of fine tuning, no?

its all about the benjamins.

briggs, i agree, but i think TT could be the pick for chicago. paxson said they want "size and athleticism" so it'll be either one.

morrison to CHA is solid b/c they have gerald wallace to D up the other team's perimeter scorer. morrison can be hid in the defense. felton, morrison, wallace, may, okafor. not a bad starting 5.

briggs, what about atlanta taking brandon roy at 5? that'd give them two big guards to put in their back court (3 really if you count childress). roy can switch on and off pg duties with JJ. you sold on marcus being that good, i know you're a big uconn guy.

if they don't take him first, he has a high chance of going no. 2 to the Bulls.

sleeper blockbuster:

Emeka and the 3 for the first. Charlotte takes Ty Thomas, Raps get Emeka and selects Marcus Williams
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

>>Emeka and the 3 for the first

McK1 - Just plain silly. Emeka is the cornerstone in Charlotte. The ownership has invested a lot of marketing money in him as the personality of the franchise.

Now they trade him for an unproven player?

Emeka is always hurt

Bernie reportedly loves Ty who is also very marketable, probably moreso than Emeka.

>Bernie reportedy loves Ty

Hell, I reportedly love Halle Berry, that don't mean I'm gonna get the digits.

> Emeka is always hurt

McK1 - so, you build an expansion franchise around a 19 year old player with one year of college experience, no outside offense and absolutely no quantitative gauge of his development as a pro?

from the Raps board on Colangelo's interview after the show:

"Heard that interview too. I love how he mentioned that a potential deal was charlotte's #3 pick and an established player for the 1st pick. He was quick to point out that no talk between bernie bickerstaff and anyone else from charlotte had taken place, just that something like that might be what it takes to get the 1st pick."

and no you weave with an uptempo point guard in Felton who is a threat to 18 10 and 10 every night. A swing in Wallace who is geting 15 pts 7 rebs 2 blks 2 stls a night.

Brezec, May, Ely...

Ty has time to develop

Okafor is good but he is limited offensively as well. he is not a go to guy

quantatative guage? 12 pts 9 boards and 3 blocks plus a total lockdown of potential no. 1 Aldrige while posting 21 & 13 with 3 blocks is what then

i think it may be the #3 and brevin knight. if he wants to create a pheonix type situation up north, then he'll need a pass first pg with some experience to start implementing that system. brevin knight will help them get started without breaking the bank. and then take whoever's left of the aldridge/thomas/bargnani trio. with primo, ok4, and may - they can then s&t ely for a sg or simply let him go.

That's the same exact deal I saw happening! I was just thinking that the Raps might go after Knight or Speedy Claxton.

Knights a stop gap.

Williams is the type of point guard to bring out the next level in Bosh Villa graham etc...
his command off an offense is masterful

its going to take a bigger name than Knight and Bobcats aren't trading Felton to make the trade for a point still draft big work.

it has to be an Okafor or G Wallace and G Wallace is much more valuable a player than Emeka.

Are you on drugs my man? Why would Charlotte trade ok4 or wallace to move up two whole spots? If I was 3 i would sit tight. there is no need on that team other than to keep adding talent and get healthy. they have 5-4-3- 1 covered pretty darn well--my guess is that they move morrison into the 2 guard spot

agree they take Adam if they sit still. I also stated they shouldn't trade Wallace.

how much better will Okafor get?

Tyrus represents the next gen big. He is in the mold of Amare and Bosh.
IMO Emeka's game spells sidekick.

McK1 - so you trade for thepotential of a college player and NOT one who has gone against pros?

what's wrrong with that picture?

you could speculate ad infinitum about drtaft picks.

Turn over the roster every year.

Its nothing but a hamster wheel.

Being a limited Bobcat season tix holder I will say that May is a career back up. Emeka might be more injuryu prone but lets see what happens.

They could use a 2 guard. Could Morrison be more of that?

Tyrus is raw and is much like Emeka. But If they are smart they take the best player, not draft by position.
