Detroit is not playing the same as last year. The emphasis is more towards offense.
Many many variables so its not fair to directly compare despite the desire to do so.
But the Pistons should also be getting better. This core is now about 2.5 years together and the team defense if not what it was.
Larry is a pain in the arse and players tune him out because he is very detail oriented and gets on his players for the smallest details. Flip Murry catches the ball with two hands the Cavs might be playing instead of Detroit. A box out here or there can turn a series. Details and more details. This is why Larry is so highly regarded in the league.
Knicks need to settle in to a direction and stop playing games.
Nalod get over it. Hell if and could have beens. If J-Kidd didn't have a bum knee 2 years ago, NJ would be playing against the Pacers and not Detroit. If both Wade and Shaq didn't come up lame against Detroit last year the Heat would probably make it to their first NBA finals. If Ewing could have stretch out his arms a little more... You see that's silly. Here another thought if Brown was more focus on the Piston gameplanning last year than other job prospects, Pistons would be celebrating back to back championships, looking to 3 peat.
And if, and if, and if............
I repeat "many many variables so its not fair to compare despite the desire to do so".
So what does that mean...? And if, and if, and if!!!!!!!!
DIva owners over react. Davidson was pissed Brown said well before playoffs were started that "knicks were his dream job". Why, cuz he grew up a knick fan. not that he wanted out. Blah, blah, blah, he needed time off for bladder reasons and team preasured hiim back. BLah blah blah, DAVIDSON GRANTS CLEVELAND NEW OWNERSHIP TO TALK TO BROWN!. What does that tell you? Davidson wanted him out for health reasons and he was offended over NY Post article.
Ok, Fine.
Read todays papers? Larry now saying dolan made promises about roster changes that they are backing out of? And, he is very adamaent about the article about him going over Isiahs head. Now we all know Isiah and Dolan were courting him big time last summer and Talked alot about the roster.
23 wins. 23 vs. 33 wins. Who cares. Isiah traded the pick away. So why not try anything and everything to figure this roster out? What difference does it make other than fans getting pissed off. Its value is irrelevant. Next year a different story.
Seems that Isiah and Larry are on the same page most of the season.
Jaelen and Francis. Public display. or, "larry, you want francis or Starbury next year?" Francis Isiah! "Ok". That means he endorsed it. In fact, who cares who endorsed who.
Player value. Uh oh, Too bad Larry said those bad things cuz Im sure Kevin Mchale thought the team really loves having Marbs around the team! If anyone does not know whats up, it was Isiah who traded for starbury.
Nalods take: Leave it be. let Larry coach, and let Isiah fix this mess. 23 wins suck, but so does 33 games. I'd rather we strive for some fundamental goals of player developement than Isiah keep expanding things.
Deal with the facts, not incidental.
Its a fiasco either way.
