Times-Picayune - The Hornets might deal away veteran center P.J. Brown this summer, according to Benjamin Hochman.

Brown is 36 and in the final year of his $32 million, four-year contract. It also is possible the Hornets could trade one or both picks of their picks.

"Absolutely, we won't rule anything out," Bower said. "We'll take a look at every scenario possible to try and help our team get better.

I forgot Maurice Taylor came from that class on Michigan Wolverines that underacheived so bad. Tractor traylor was on that team as well.

I see N.O. is still trying to trade PJ Brown. A guy I cannot stand. He screwed the Knicks in 96-97

NO is only trading the one pick, the #12, and they are getting the 2 later picks in the first. They already have 2 young building blocks in Paul and West. Des Mase is also pretty young. Snyder, Bass, and the Euro center they have is alot of youth and they have two top dollar picks (the 12 and 15 will cost some money to sign). Two later picks will save them money and net them some role players to put around this young nucleus they have. Pls it gets rid of Smith.

You have to remember, Smith's value was so low, the Spurs almost had him for Brent freakin' Barry at the trade deadline.

Absolutely, I never said it would happen just that it works and makes some iota of sense since they get to unload Smith in the transaction.

AS for them trading up, I can only see two teams that would be interested in a deal like the one you suggested...Portland and Minnesota. Portland to replace guys like Miles and Randolph if they are moved and Minny because they are in a win now-type of mode with KG. However, Minny would have to include a large, long term salary (which is the only type of salary they have and I doubt NO would want). The other teams have alot of youth...Maybe ATL may make sense, but why move down, even if you are gonna get the extra pick and be left with a left over at PG, when you can just grab the best PG available at 5?

I hate pj too but in the business of basketball he is a salary dump. We can dump him in the east river!

I don't think the knicks have what new Orleans need anyway. They have been a class A organization as far as their moves reciently. They are making some good pick ups...lots of guys the knicks wouldn't take. Lots of easy to move dirt cheap players.

i think zack Randolph is a better fit with what the knicks need.

Knicks don't have a real post threat. They don't have a go to guy. Zack has shown he can be a go to guy. I think Portland would trade the knicks both players. Knicks have jalen to throw at them.

Its still more of the same bull**** but how can you not win with zack, miles, curry, marbs or Francis, and craw with guys like frye, lee, Q, Nate and the rest on the bench?

bringing in zach means frye's days as a starter with the knicks are done. and if frye is a 6th man, when he could be a starter, then in all likelyhood, he'll be traded.

are you prepared to take zach over frye?

Frye isn't even the starter in browns one track record mind.

To me I look at it as having a formidable balanced front court. Zack is the hammer, frye has the touch, curry has the jam, lee brings the pail, butler does the dishes. All the good teams have players on the bench that could easily start on any team in the league.

The Knicks need defensive minded basketball players as well as players with some sort of work-ethic. Zach Randolph has displayed neither one of these in his career, Nate McMillan couldn't even coach him and he's a players coach. No thanks on Zach.

i don't get how NO benefits by trading away an expiring contract & 2 lottery picks essentially for an expiring contract & 2 late 1st rounders.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

They don't. Smith, Synder, Brown and Macijauskas are all requesting trades from the Hornets. Smith and Macijauskas are demanding trades. Very strange, going back to Baron Davis constant requests to be traded and then Malgoire's demands. I can understand Brown's request to play for a contender. I wonder if this has anything to do with Scott.

I found on a blog, the players that Scott indeed wants gone/traded ASAP, this is back in Jan. 06.
Bostjan Nachbar - SF

Jackson Vroman - PF/C (specifically mentioned by Scott)

J.R. Smith - SG

Arvydas Macijauskas - SG/PG

Brandon Bass - PF

Maciej Lampe - C/PF (also mentioned by Scott as a disappointment)

I think the Hornets would be open to getting a players like Malik, Lee, Jackie for sure. I think it is very possible, man they (well atleast Scott) want to overrall half of their roster too.
