is a nightmare scenario. if we were patient with the mle instead of running into jerome james's jockstrap 1 minute into FA, we simply couldve signed Eddy Curry for NOTHING

BRIGGS if memory serves me, you were suggesting that we sign JJ with the MLE last off-season. Do you not remember that?

I did say he was a candidate for a couple of years with part of the MLE, but I didnt say break his door down in minute one with 40mm $! I said something like *possibly* 3 years 15mm along with several other possibilities for the mle.

What jj did against sactown in the playoffs is what I always knew he was capable of. He has the skills. It was always a case of weight.

Now that he became a knick I understand its not just the weight. Jj just doesn't care about the process of getting better as a basketball player. He should be a dominant player in the league but he isn't because of his mentality.

I just wonder if any of this stuff that happened this season changed his way of thinking? Will he show up to training camp out of shape and catch a weekend warrior injury that will sideline him for the first few weeks of the season?

Chances are he will not tarnish his reputation, lol.

that was the rap on the guy for a while now... this year was not an aberration, it's the norm... anyone who's watched this guy over his career knew that coming in... players aren't defined by what they do over a stretch of a few weeks, especially ones that are 30 yrs old & have been in the league for over 5 years... there isn't much upside to players like that... they are what they are... only a fool would think a guy like James would suddenly transform into a dominant C (not saying you Eny, speaking about Isiah), much less sign the guy longterm to a big money 5 year contract based on a sample of 1 playoff series... it was pure & unadulterated stupidity to even bother signing this guy when you already had a backup C on the bench who was only 20 years old w/some upside in Jackie Butler... & to think that Isiah would believe a career 5 & 4 guy could be the STARTING C on this team is even more mindboggling.

They been laughing at his face for about 6, 7 years now. They all know he sucks. But Dolan thinks he's awesome and that Isiah is the God of basketball. Boy, when rich people got enormous egos......
