McDyess...17 and 17. Very good for his first outing. He is totaly going to open up the offense for Houston and Spree.

Kurt had a tough shooting game, 1 for 12 at one point in the game. Shandon didn't show much. Ward and Eisley showed that the Knicks need a real point guard. Othella had a good game scoring wise, but still only looks to shoot when he gets the ball.

2 new guys that I was impressed with were Tim James and Mark Pope. Pope is a tall hustle guy that moves very well. Tim James had some good defensive play and hit a nice shot at the end of a quarter.

anyone have the lowdown on Tim James? He seemed like a very capable backup small forward... rebounded, hustled, showed some offensive game.

Tim James was all big east for miami going back like 4 years at the smal forward he is long like 6-7 1/2 and can hit shots and drive. he was a first round draft choice for the Heat but it was the kind of rokie that riley would never use when he was trying to win the al thing. he was included in the mashbrurn deal to charlotte where he never was in position to play behind like three guys. I think he could be a very capable back up--Id much rather keep him and let him develop[hes only 25] than get a walt wiliams jimmy jackson type. i think he plays much more in control than postell and can elevate to the basket. When he played at Miami[the college] jim calhoun said he thought he would be a good nba player because of his size and athletic ability.

one more point on the subs i thought that little pg who I never heard of and I watch a lot of CBB played VERY well in his limited minutes hes lightning fast and he was effective on both sides. i would like to see more of him

pope played hard and pretty effective and I thought Travis Knight played well too

the other subs stunk

Oh yeah...I forgot about the little PG. He did play well.

A thing noted in the AP recap, McDyess scored all his points without having a play run for him. Not too bad, but if we didn't run a play all night for McDyess, just who were we running plays for??? Kurt, Travis, Shandon, Ward?

I think the biggest thing i noticed last night was mcdyess's athleticism, i mean this guy rises up effortlessly, he is going to be an exciting player to watch. Dont take any stock in the final score as many scrubs on both sides played. Tim james looks good now, trust me, IF he makes the team, he wont see aby playing time once spre gets back. He will be buried, and remember theres still postell out there.

The one that surprised me about Dice was that he was able to keep up with Antoine around the 3-point line. That dude is hard to guard on the outside.

I think that once Spree and Houston get back on the court the post will be less clogged for Dice. It seemed like any time he did get the ball with his back to the basket, 4 Celtics players were within 5 feet of him.

I think the team did decently boxscore-wise with thomas stinking it up, clarence weatherspoon playing the 3 for the first time since the mid-90's and our duo of Houston and Spree and our self-titled "all-star" Postell out of the mix of action...

And is the lightening fast PG that everyone is talking about Tobey Bailey?

Um, NO. Toby Bailey looked terrible. This guy was tiny...smaller than Shammond Williams. Jemeil Rich I believe.

did anyone who watched the game like the play of Shammond Williams. He seemed to be very quick and broke at least one of the Knicks's ankles. Man, that guys would have been a really good point guard off the bench. Sure, a shoot-first type of PG, but one that can break down the defense pretty easily.

I was at the game last night and I saw how Dice grabbed rebounds above the rim. You wouldn't see those on TV since the camera angle is above court. I didn't realize he grabbed 17 until I saw today's boxscores!

It was also interesting that Chaney put 4 forwards on the court more than once. Based on his unconventional style, it'd like to see a Sprewell-Houston Big Backcourt this season.

I also like that Spoon and Harrington played the 3---especially Harrington since I saw that he can score at the 3 better than he can rebound at the 4...

which means that Shandon should not see the light of day. He claims that people should overlook his boxscores because he defends and we should overlook his turnovers because he slashes. Well, last season and especially last night, he didn't anything well. He plays (always has) an erratic game and I don't see it changing.
