I grow tire of this soap opera stuff with the current Knicks. I been watching the playoffs and notice alot of great individual performances by players. I am just curious on thoughts about the best single game playoff performances by Knick players in the 25 years.

I limited mine to 5 playoff performances.

Patrick Ewing leads my list of course.
1) Patrick Ewing's 1994 Game 7 Eastern Conference finals is to be his best game as a Knick. He scored 24 points and grabbed 22 rebounds. I think 18 of those points were consecutive in the 3rd and 4th quarters to take the lead from the Pacers. Ewing final rebound was an offensive rebound over Dale Davis I think to seal the game. Marv Albert says it was Ewing best game as a Knick.

2) Bernard King's 1983 Game 5 1st round performance against Isiah Thomas and the Pistons. King and Thomas were in another classic duel. King outscored Thomas 44 to 35. Best part Knicks won.

3) Allan Houston's 1999 Game 6 Eastern Confernce finals is best game in the playoffs as a Knick. While many remember his Game 5 amazing shot. Houston offensive game and defense was strong against the Pacers. He performed a Reggie Miller like performance against Miller.

4) Patrick Ewing - Game 5 Eastern Conference 1st round against the Heat. Everyone remembers Houston's clutch shot to win the game. But Ewing's heroic effort was what kept the Knicks in the game. Ewing scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while playing with a fracture rib cage and a sore achilles' tendon. All of this against Zo Mourning, a great defender who didn't give Ewing an inch. One of the most grittiest performances that I seen my any NBA player to date.

5) My last, who as, Patrick Ewing's single hand perfomance in Game 5 against the Celtics in 1990 playoffs. With little help from teammates, Ewing beat Bird and the Celtics in a surprising upset. He scored 31 points which was a follow up of his great game 4 performance.

Camby was great off the bench in that '99 Indiana series... he was the x factor that propelled this team to the Finals that year. (taking nothing away from Allan Houston of course)

Yeah he was on my honorable mention list, and his game Game 1 & 2 performance against the Hawks, where he shamed Mutumbo were great. Still one of the best dunks I seen was him over Mutumbo.

my favorite moment of that game was after the Knicks had clinched their Finals berth, & Allan Houston, after having been the star of that game & carrying his team to a W, had his Eastern Conference Champions hat on & walking around doing the LJ sign w/his arms, honoring his injured teammate... i could never picture Marbury, Jalen or Francis doing that.

25 years.

That game by the way Reed had 4 points but was the emotional catalyst.

Clyde had 33 pts and 19 assists! Thats a man!

ANd they won that game! Game seven, world champions!

Knicks lost BOTH of those games.

Yeah but I came damn close to including Ewing's game 7 97 playoff game. He was amazing in a losing effort. Starks was out that game and I think Oak too. It hurt. Plus Houston wasn't a factor in that game. that 96-97 team in my mind was one of the strongest Knick teams in the 90s. All this talk about Charlie Ward reminded me of this series.

Mine was the Isiah/Bernard duel. I still remember that like it was yesterday. But the most dominant single game performance(non playoff) was the second of Bernard's back to back 50's. I think he took 4 shots(an exaggeration of course)
I just hope that people will like me

I still get angry thinking about that 96-97 series - I really believe we had the guns to take it all (yes, Chicago too).... Then the suspensions...WHY did they have to be staggered...just suspend everyone a game, let us tank it, and be back to full strength the following one...but nooo
