Do you guys rememeber the movie, "lean on me" starring Morgan freeman who played Principal Clark?

This movie reminds me of the knicks situation. Mr Clark was this well known educator in the New Jersey area, he was begged by his friend who was the schools superintendent to come and take over this HS (eastside High in NJ) and get the kids to pass this test so that they could move on or Graduate. Now this school eastside high was taken over and raveged by drug dealers, thugs, misfits, bad teachers who didn't care and students who didn't care.. It was a mess, just like our knicks, stunk from the head down...

Now MR clark comes in and what does he do first? does he make friends? NO! did he kiss ass? NO! He ruffled feathers, he shook up the place, he had the teachers and faculty in fear of him, they claimed to not know what he was doing or trying to accomplish, he kicked all the hoodlums and drug dealers out of the school, he made the music teacher teach them the school anthem, each student had to know the anthem and sing it at any given time or there were consequences. He fired the football coach because the football team stunk. He scolded teachers, he held them accountable for these kids not learning, he had fights with his boss( the superintendent) on how to right the ship, he had the community on his back, parents, because he kicked kids out of school.

Now was Joe Clark wrong? was he wrong for firing teachers who questioned him? was he wrong for just firing the football coach? was he wrong for kicking the vagrants out of school? was it necessary to know the school anthem?

You see all of this was necessary, in order to build a culture of accountabilty from everyone, to build pride in the students, in their school and in their education, to make eastside high not just a place of learning, but of individual growth. Yes he was harsh, yes people didn't know what he was doing at times, but the result was, the kids passed the test, the teachers came to respect him, the students loved him, and the school was restored back into a institution of learning, and not a prison..

This is how I viewed Larry Brown comming to NY, yes he was an ass, yes we didn't know what he was doing at times, but in order to fix a mess, you have to tear down and then rebuild, get rid of the bad apples, and those who are not with your program wholeheartedly. In order to build a culture of winning and accountability, as fans we must trust a guy like LB, give him time, don't back the malcontents, and selfish players, and weasle GM's and owners. As fans we should see through all the BS and know just like Joe clark who had a history of sucess wherever he went LB needs to be given the support to succeed here. His past is almost impecable. Yea we know he can be harsh, but that comes with the territory, but I think he is worth it....

I think 95% of this board wants Larry Brown back next season. Even if they don't agree with his methods.

Count me in the 5% who don't want LB back. And I think you are exaggerating. It is not only 5%.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

The question is, even though 30% beleive Larry is at fault for the season. How many people still would want him back?

I know I exaggerated with 95%. I wasn't trying to be exact. Out of that 30% that beleived he was at fault. There is probably a good % people who would still want him back.

I was an LB supporter, but I believe he shares responsibility for last years failure. Either through clumsiness or by design he made a bad situation worse.

I'm not saying he has to go, but I won't cry once he's gone. The blush is off that rose.

That doesn't mean I think its a great development that Isiah is going to coach, but there is a certain justice to it becuase I also think Isiah shares responsibility for this teams failures. I won't begrudge him if he's successful, but honestly I'm not expecting it with this situation we have.

I don't about that. Out of the 70% who thought Isiah was more at fault, I think many like me still don't want Larry back. We just don't want anyone except a few players out of the entire organization back.

There's a very simple solution to this debate...
