Bottom line on the whole LB thing is that he never settled on a steady rotation, alienated his players to the Nth degree and made laughable, rediculous trade requests for players that had ZERO chance of turning this thing around (Kevin Ollie??? and Eric Snow??? when you got guys like Stephon Marbury backed up by a hungry Nate Robinson? - And we started hearing the "I need a point guard stuff" early on if you guys remember.) All that plus his refusal or inability to deal with, improve and infuse some steady confidence in our young core AND I'M TALKING RIGHT FROM THE FUCKING BEGINNING (screaming at Ariza in one of the first pre-season practices for taking a jump shot - yeah that's a confidence booster; speaking of Trevor, I loved when the kid went to him to talk and he said he didn't have time for him - remember that ****?; never fully inserting Frye as a starter even after his barrage of 30-pt games, and he never knew exactly what he had with Lee, Nate, Woods, and Jackie. Not to mention the rest of his roster. Still doesn't...) I say GOODBYE LB! TAKE YOUR CRAZY MAD SCIENTIST ACT SOMEWHERE ELSE! Zeke take the reins yourself or bring Bill Laimbeer in here. There I said my peace...

Now on to important matters...

So let's talk the draft. If there's one thing we should all be focused on it's the draft. It's the best way to improve our club. We have a GM who is at least committed to youth and has been quite successful drafting talent wherever he's been and for that reason alone, I got his back. For now... So who do you guys want? Do we keep the 20th and 29th picks or do we try and trade up? What kind of players do you guys want to add to this mix? A big? A PG? Or do you guys want a 2-guard? Brandon Roy anyone? Me personally I'd love to see Rodney Carney and Hilton Armstrong in a Knicks uniform. But that's me. Tell me what you guys think.

I would like to trade Francis to Minn for the pick and for blah blah just to draft Williams.

But if this is not feasible.
20 - Lowry
29 - Roby or PJ Tucker
Acquire 2nd round pick and draft a young, athlethic shot blocker in Hollins. Put them in the NBADL.

Funny, but I like him better than more highly touted SFs Gay and Morrison. But that's me.

Roby and Boone, as nbadraft.net currently has slotted for us, would be nice.

Earlier on I wanted Brewer alot but now I came to conclusion that it is necessary to build a shadow team in the NBADL that could supplant this team when the time is right.

NBDL talent can be nabbed anytime... you don't waste 1st round picks on players who are going to be relegated to the NBDL... 2nd rounders i can understand somewhat, & even then, it's a waste... NBDL players are mostly guys who don't get drafted, or who are working their way back to the NBA after a significant injury (i.e. DerMarr Johnson)

We may disagree about Brown but I along with you have been talking about Marcus Williams and more specifically Kyle Lowry for a while now. I for one, like Lowry better then Williams, he's not as decorated, but I think he has all the intangibles that you want in your PG. He can shoot, he's a floor general both offensively and defensively and he just knows how to execute an offense. If Isiah can find a way to draft him atleast I'd have a good taste in my mouth after this year.

That's the old way of thinking. It should now be used as a minor league system where you take risker players towards the end of the draft and 2nd rounders. When you have lottery picks they should play right away.

Kyle Lowry

He's the one guy we need out of this draft. He's the type of player that will begin to change the culture on this team. He comes from a good program, he's a leader, and most importantly he's one of the best perimeter defenders I've seen in a while. He's the type of kid that will be our captain his 2nd year in the league (just like Duhon with the Bulls).

He's exactly why the whole Larry Brown thing is so important. If you want this team to start winning again, we need to bring in winners. Leaders that play both ways. Larry Brown type ballplayers. If Isiah starts coaching, we'll win a few more games next year but we won't stand a chance. Maybe we'll even squeeze into the playoffs but what's the point? We'll revert back into the deadly cycle of mediocracy. No Thanks.

If these guys are available then I want Armstrong (great blocker, rebounder) and Reddick (lights out shooter). However seeing as they are slated to go in the mid teens, my more realistic choices are Lowry (floor general) and Shawne Williams (6-9 SG/SF).

I would try to do whatever it takes to get Marcus Williams. With the way the NBA has evolved with the pick and roll and the inability for the defender to extend/bump etc.. a true crafty pass first PG becomes a vital cog in a winning team. Other than that Id be interested in Patrick Obryant because big men still win games---that is the history of the game.

I dont want to think about spot s 20 29 etc.. until I have to--i want to move up.

I agree with sentiment Briggs. At the same time I realize that the NBA is also turning into a league where there are such great athletes at the PG position, they are quick, they can shoot, you name it, they do it. Thats why I'd like to see Lowry, someone who is very adept at guarding these kinds of players. I'm not saying Williams is a bad defender but I think Lowry would give the Knicks a great perimeter defender to matchup against the Wades of the world. I'd be ecstatic with either player, just saying I'd prefer Lowry but I definately agree with your assesment of Williams, he'd be a real nice distributor for years to come.

The decision about Lowry vs. Williams will likely be made for us by the time we get to pick.

Let's hope that Isiah is able to move up a bit, whether is trading Marbury or Francis or not, as long as they move up.

Carney is a major athlete, but despite some late struggles in the NCAA, he won't last into the 20's. Roy clearly won't last until the teens. Armstrong actually reminds me of Curry in some ways. 1) great athletic ability 2) basement b-ball IQ 3) bad at everything on the offensive end except for dunking 4) turns it on & off (no consistent effort)
