I just wanted to point out that with Erick Dampier's BYC status gone, a Ward-for-Dampier trade straight up does work cap-wise. If golden state were to ask for more we could throw in someone like Lavor Postell, Micheal Wright, or Eric Chenowith and still have it work. I think it would be a pretty fair deal. Thoughts?

Wow, Dampier's contract is long. How come he only played 43 games last season? This would solve our PG problem, but I don't know much about Dampier. Can anyone fill me in (other than the obvious points and rebounding stats)?

he was injured big time, i think leg injuries the past 2 seasons. he's generally regarded as a bust since signing a vinbaker-esque contract and not producing jack.

Dampier has not lived up to his potential, but GS is said to have really liked his progress this summer. The only thing is, with their glut at center, either him or Foyle will be the odd man out and it's likely going to be Dampier. I really think we need to try to get him.

I think we should just sign felton spencer to the veteran's minimum and play him or thomas as camby's backup when Camby needs a breather.

sure i would love to. Dampier sucks, he has been in the league long enough now for the "he has potential" talks to be void now. I think he is lazy, and doesn't give a damn, except on payday. I would rather have Foyle, at least he is healthy and will give you blocks and hustle, Dampier is a bum..IMO

I agree with you. Folye is a great shot-blocker which would really help our team with the rule changes. He can also crash the boards and would give us much needed height down low.

OK, I'm sold on NOT getting Dampier. Foyle however is interesting, but with his smaller salary and BYC status it will be tough to find someone to match up with him.

Well I checked at realgm and this is what rolled out..

Golden State trades: Adonal Foyle $4,400,000 to New York
TOTAL: $4,400,000

New York trades: Mark Jackson $3,860,000 to Golden State
New York trades: Lavor Postell $559,020 to Golden State
TOTAL: $4,419,020

TRADE ACCEPTED

Adonal Foyle his salary is $4,400,000BYC2 so I picked the one with the closest salary being danny fortson. Trade works without Postell as well but then they get a trade exception. Personally I'd rather ship out Ward for Foyle+draft pick but I don't think GS would do that or would they?

Happy now?

The only thing with Fortson is that he is undersized - 6'8" or something. He's a rebounding machine but the Knicks without Camby would have be refered to the "All 6'9" And Under Team" - that's no good.

Uhm, Martin,

the trade was meant for Foyle, and to try if I used Fortson as his salary resembles that of Foyle. I like Fortson but he's a PF right, our deepest position.

I would take Fortson, but we already have a few undersized power forwards. Still, it doesn't matter anyways because GS is confident in him as a starter and they probably want to see more of him before they trade him. I still like Ward and throw-ins for either Foyle or Dampier(who is most likely.)
