Im skeptical of keeping all of these guys and isiah has not been very successful flipping the huge contracts+ picks for vet players

all of this--we need to get a star player in return for stephon marbury is stupid.

i know it and marbury are close but i dont feel marbury is right for the long term future of this team--they can change the style of play, but it doesnt change our TREMENDOUS problems on defense and the chemistry of the roster. if the plan is to go with what we have and keep the rosters tight, i think they will regret it

IF we can somehow make a deal for that 6 pick with minnesota that includes taking back jaric and giving up Marbury i would do it---as a starter

no way will Marbury be traded... he's Isiah's posterboy... the day Marbury's gone, Isiah will likely be gone w/him... if LB is pushed out & Isiah takes full control again, i think the following is a possible scenario (reasonably speaking considering Isiah's M.O.):

- Francis is dealt before the season begins, most likely in a package for Al Harrington in a sign & trade (including the 1st rd. picks)

- Isiah signs Jared Jefferies to a MLE contract

- Isiah trades Q Rich to appease his poster child

- Isiah waits til the trading deadline to use Mo T & Jalen Rose's contracts to add players signed longterm

C - Curry / Big Turd / Butler
PF - Frye / Mo T / Malik
SF - Harrington / Lee
SG - Jefferies / Craw
PG - Marbury / Nate
IR - Woods / Jalen

I think Francis will be moved this summer, I don't buy at all that this is Thomas guy. Neither is Rose. Despite Brown's best efforts there is still interest in Francis. Maybe you get a 1st round pick for him.

As far as the Minn trade, I think Dolan has vetoed that trade.

TMS what you don't get is that the owner vetoed the Marbury deal. Not Thomas, not Brown. Part of the reason why reason why Dolan wants to buy out Brown.

Id be willing to do almost anything to make our engine Marcus Williams. I think Minnesota is in a different spot with KG. Minnesota can still replicate the success they had two years ago--i think it would have to be more than 2 teams, but i think there is a posibility it could be accomplished--although i have a feeling that it ius possible marcus ends up top 3 anyway

if we do get that 6 pick--its possible we can parlay a 20 and a 6 to move up to 3 im going to guess ty thomas and aldridge go 1-2--

that's even more of a reason that Marbury won't be dealt... if Dolan's convinced that Marbury is part of the solution, do you honestly think he's going anywhere? i bet Dolan just doesn't want to lose his #1 seller of jerseys... freakin guy only cares about marketing dollars.

Marbury was Dolan's saviour 2 years ago. When daddy was threatening to push out James. I don't think the Knicks are willing to take back Jaric, etc. from Minn and still pick up half his salary.

I think Isiah would want to play Stephon, Curry, Frye, Jamal, and the others he wants as a big part are Nate, Lee, Malik and maybe Jalen Rose coming off the bench.
He would deal Francis, James, Mo Taylor, Q Woods, Quentin Richardson. I don't know what that would bring back.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

which means Marbury's here to stay... no other team in the NBA is stupid enough to trade for Marbury at this point & give us anything back of any worth.

I just want a overhaul. This roster is flawed, the philosophy is flawed, everything is flawed. I don't want to win 38 games and make the playoffs just to lose in the first round. Rest assured that will happen until something is changed around here.

League insiders told ESPN.com that the Knicks, looking at things from a practical and financial standpoint, feel they'd be best served to cut their losses with Brown rather than undergo the type of large scale roster overhaul that would be needed to placate him. In other words, why trade Stephon Marbury for less-than-star players whose contracts will carry huge luxury taxes, when they can simply buy out Brown for something in the area of $25 million and move on with a new coach.

I think Marcus Williams is 10 times the team player and leader Marbury

is without taking a dribble in the NBA. He makes other guys around him better. What type of star are we talking about here? I think the 6th pick and jaric is worthy of marbury--atleast i would do it:>)

You make it sound like the Knicks are the freaking Celtics. They have 2 championships in a span of 57 years. It took them 20 years to win their 1st one and it has been what, 35 years since their last one. I understand a Celtic fan, a Bulls fan saying something like that. I can understand not liking mediocrity but it foolish to pretend its not something you are use to.

Why the hell should I just sit here and take mediocrity. This franchise has taken a nose-dive since James Dolan took over the reins as owner and I'm not happy about it. I signed up for a forum to voice my displeasure and that they need a new philosophy. If your happy with 1st round exits then have a ball the next few years. Don't tell me ever again that I should be used to mediocrity, I want it changed.

Jefferies or Evans would be a wise use of the MLE according to my sources, said Ryan, who happened to have just woke up from a killer nap.

In other news, Francis is gone. He's a POC.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
