Seems like the next logical coaching step.

Logical as in continuing the pattern of idiocy that has characterized the decisions of this franchise?

If he does that will still be longer than Don Nelson, that's still my benchmark. This organization has a bad history with coaches. I remember once where it was reported and I think it was right after Van Gundy step down that the organization has had alot of coaches in its history. I remember Ewing once joking on TNT during an interview in Houston that during his Knick career he had 8 different head coaches. He played 13 seasons with the Knicks. I think Riley and Van Gundy were the only 2 that had more than 2 years tenure.
I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

Herb had his chance and wasn't very good. Adelman and Stan Van Gundy are available get on eof them, Isiah hope not but it wouldn't be the end of the world he will be decent at best.

I think the idea is to avoid paying another salary, so I don't think we'll see Adelman or Van Gundy brought in.

If Brown goes, Isiah Thomas will be the Knicks next coach.

If this comes to fruition its sad. Rooting for the team to fail is messed up, but I see no other way.

Dolan if this all comes about might confirm our view that he is the dumbest man alive and I will applaud larry walking away from this disaster and accumulating multigenerational wealth from this moron.

You should be ashamed of yourself Nalod, and all the rest of you saying you will stop rooting. Nalod, I remember you chastising holfresh for threatening to start a "fire larry" countdown list, saying that he should not cherish being right over the team winning.

Isn't that what you are doing?

Is this team the New York Larry Browns?

Larry Brown is not a deity.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

what you guys aren't getting is that we're not fixated on larry brown...it's the philosophy of dumping another coach. (and it this case, it's another HOF coach)

I would believe that if I were new to the board, but I have been reading all y'alls posts all season and I have seen the lengths gone to defend and explain how god-awful he was this year.

I'm not crazy about this proposed move, unless it's part of a larger house cleaning (like getting rid of Isiah and Marbury as well). I agree that having a new coach every season is ridiculous, but we all know Dolan's an idiot.

However, I would not root against the team.

Addition: In the twisted psyche of the LB apologist, 23 wins by LB are better than a theoretical 46 by Isiah.

5 coaching changes in less than 3 years. That is what is so messed up.

What worries me is trades to win right away and giving up on any future.

Isiah is despirate. This is not a good thing. Not good for our young players, nor good for building anything for the future.

We don't build around here, we are a team of instant gradification.

agreed... let's stop the coaching merry go round... this has to rest on Isiah's shoulder, for better or for worse, since it's apparent that Dolan trusts the guy for some reason unbeknownst to any logical thinking human being.

Isiah is desperate? He actually wants to keep the young players. Brown would trade Frye for Tyrone Hill if he was given control of the roster. Zeke actually has a plan, Larry just want people who know how to play NBA defense, he isn't interested in teaching the finer points to kids. Larry can't see the potential in anyone, only what's lacking. He's a horrible coach for a developing team. He's a fine/possibly great coach for a team full of vets who know what to do.

We are a young team and we will improve.

I hope Larry likes Sacramento, I'm sure ESPN will make him a martyr all next season and never mention the fact that Bill Davidson fired his butt, too. whatever.
