If coach Brown were to retire for health reasons today,
would you consider Walt Frazier a potential coach for this team?
I think he is worth consideration. I think he's also a tough
guy who calls it like he sees it, and also played ball the "right
way". Who knows.
Thoughts?

During a Knicks game, Mike Breen asked Frazier if he had ever considered coaching. Frazier's response: "Nah Mike. I seek tranquility not hostility. Plus, I have too much fun being on the road with you." They both laughed. It was a pretty funny moment. I think it happened this year.

Great players often don't make good coaches nor executives.

Good Cerebral players (2nd tier) do much better. Guys like Larry, Phil, Carlisle, Paul Silas, Byron (?) Paxton, Kiki, Westphal, etc.

Willis Reed, Cowens, Mike, Isiah etc don't always project the on court greatness to a different capacity.

I would seriouly welcome Stan Van Gundy to this organization to serve a year or so under Brown and be his replacement when he leaves.

Too funny.

But yeah he would be my prime candidate for coach of the knicks. He seemed like he was more into the games than the players and he definately knows how to handle the media.

Why did riles fire him again?

You do know that Kiki was fired? Phil was smart to make sure there was a MJ, Pippen, Shaq or a Kobe on his team. Excellent. Paul Silas is still taking kudos for his one year and half with Lebron. I hope Westphal makes it back into the NBA at some point.

What happened to Herb Williams?? Did we sour on him already. I thought he was the heir to the coach throne. I mean he is learning so much under Brown.

I think Riley just wanted to coach the team himself.

i don't think it was riles that technically "wanted" to but more forced to.. i think it was apparent early that the team had no chemistry and the lockerroom wasn't a unit. shaq's window is closing and he really has maybe one or two shots left. i think it was in the best interest of everyone that riles took the reigns b/c of stan failed, it would've been more "what if's?" but with riles, they are now ALL IN and can't blame anybody but themselves.

Adelman wouldn't be bad. He coached the Blazers in their Drexler glory years and had the Kings ready to oust the Lakers of Shaq and Kobe before they choked. The guy is bonafide. Less of an ego than Mr Brown, which would be nice for all of us.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

I'd love to see Clyde make the quantum leap from broadcaster to coach. It would be an auspicous, yet baffling and possibly imprudent move on the part of the Knicks organization.

If Clyde were the coach, you can be certain we'd see more dishing and swishing,
bounding and astounding, and fire and desire from our heroes.

Clyde would be a truly altruistic and diligent coach. He'd be a precocious neophyte who would avoid egregious errors and have a penchant for prudent omnipotence, bedeviling the Knicks opponents.

In short, I think it would be a serendiptous and uncanny event if we could to get the tenacious, omnipresent and riveting Clyde as coach to awaken the Knicks from their stupor.
