"The Maloofs had longed for a coach with more of a defensive approach, leading Adelman to frequently defend his case as a capable defensive coach throughout his last season." Sacramento Bee

"Adelman and his assistants scoffed at the notion that defense never was emphasized during practice, and - on more than one occasion - Adelman cited the downfall of New York Knicks coach Larry Brown as evidence that so-called defensive geniuses aren't the cure-all to success." Sacramento Bee

Can we trade LB to Sac for RA and a 2nd rd pick ?? Hell i will toss in Herb as in incentive !!!
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!

This is the 3rd hit, that I seen from a NBA coach on Brown. There use to be a fraternity of coaches but I guess that stuff don't exist anymore.

geoff petrie is a top notch gm. one of the best in the league. if he felt adelman wasn't the guy, then i trust his judgement. it's funny b/c adelman's teams never really played defense and couldn't get the stops it needed to get over the hump (sac vs. lal, game 7).

and looks like one of the reasons he was let go was b/c he didn't emphasize defense. and it looks like petrie does want the team to play defense. hey, defense wins championships.

Obviously you didn't read what he said about Brown. Nice touch too, so called defensive geniuses. BTW, it did take Brown 20 years+ to win a championship and lets face it. Like my old signature said, that was a premier team long before Brown got there, and looks to be even better this year. And I wouldn't call Flip no defensive genuis. So take all that with a grain of salt.

adelman said it not petrie.

brown is not here to win a title. brown is here to rebuild the franchise. can't use knicks and championship in the same sentence for a long long time.

Truth be said, any coach worth his weight could win with any player not just " his type " of player !! Look at what Riely did with the Lakers " showtime " style then with the Knicks " bruiser " style !!!

Asked who would be a good coach for the Kings going forward

He responded:

There are a lot of good coaches out there, one thing I have learned is that good coach usually means you have good players, Larry Brown found that out this year, you can be the greatest guy in the league, but this is a player's league...
