net result after a mere 2 seasons later:

1-1 and have stolen homecourt advantage in a 7 game series with the Spurs.

I think cuban is Ok, the mavs and dirk seemed to have gotten better since nash has left, I am not saying it is because of nash leaving, but I am sure cuban is not losing sleep..

Cubans logic at the time made sense. And Nash is a better player with D'Antoni no doubt.

Dallas moved to a tougher defense team. Getting Jason Terry while Grooming Devon Harris is a solid plan. Terry has been better than expected. They have done a masterful job of rebuilding on the fly.

and they have an owner with self control. nash was all but locked up to return but pheonix came in with a last minute offer. and cuban said no. i mean how can you be mad at that? and as nalod said, he recovered on the fly pretty impressively.
