John Wallace, Lavor Postell, Maciej Lampe, Mike Sweetney, Frank Williams, Trevor Ariza...

the names will come & go... have any of them proven much of anything in this league? do i think Channing has a brighter future than all those guys, i definitely do... but i'm not opposed to trading him if we can improve the team, that's the only point i'm making... David Lee on the other hand, is a keeper in my eyes... i just like the intangibles he brings to the game... he's an awesome rebounder & probably the best finisher on the break that we have running on the wing... he's shown some good IQ on the court, makes smart passes, & energizes the rest of the team... we need to hold onto players like that if we want to implement a good, fundamental team oriented style of basketball.

I think he is Rasheed Lite in terms of skills but not attitude. Channing will never see his true potential till Statbury is gone. Statbury needs players like KVH and Nazr, players who are more spot up and catch and dunk players.

Isn't Frye a good spot up shooter? Isn't Curry a catch and dunk guy?

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

i'm talking about both half and full. Frye didn't even play much in the post

Wait do you think that Lee played more in the post then Frye this past season??

no but we have seen David Lee on the wings moving the ball in the halfcourt finding people.

when have we seen Frye first off and how often was he hitting cutters or finding the open shooters. The few times Frye did go down there, a shot from Frye followed.

There is no way we could/should trade him without knowing his offseason work ethic and seeing how much he improves from one yr to another. He definatly has the attitude that makes me feel that he will look to improve his game.

Unless we get blown away with an offer, we shouldn't trade him.

i dont see sheed in him.

i see him as an arvydas sabonis type minus the passing.

basically, an average rebounder for his position, with a lethal outside shot.

18 and 8, or thereabouts, is probly the tip of the iceberg. And that would be in 35 MPG.

And that's probly Curry's max. output too...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

The best comparison for Frye I can think of is a better scoring Raef LaFrentz. I like the kid, but comparisons to some of the elite players in the NBA is probably a little unrealistic.

Channing Frye is Channing Frye, he is the best rookie we've had in years let us develop him and not trade him for him to come back and burn us. He is a bright NY guy with outstanding work ethic, you can say that about alot of these players in the league. He earned the starting job earlier in the year and then was given wishy washy minutes by Brown. Of course his production fell off and his confindence was low. His last game was his best of the season where we saw what he can become regarding block shots and rebounds. He'll get it trust me. LB better play more next year, not bad for a guy who didn't play the first game of the season.

Lee was 6-4 coming out of high school and projected as a guard.

Eventually played center at florida.

There is a SF in that body. Its tough enough to gain confidence as an NBA player yet play a new position at this level. The kid gets an A considering this.

Frye can shoot, and he learned to face the basket and drive to the basket. We saw huge progress this year in many of his moves.

Both of them need to bulk up for the long season. THey had great rookie seasons!

If we can get a consistant effort from Eddy we migh have somthing here. When Starbury was peaking in January he fed Eddy in the lane and he was unstoppable. Might Eddy benefit from a set line up? One without a volitile point diva? Players that know the role?

Be nice to find out.

I have swaid since I saw him in summer league, Rasheed Wallace/Pau Gasol/Poor Man's Dirk Nowitzki. I think borderline All-star, but a definate respected leader (comparable to a Shane Battier-like locker room presence). Talking number, I would expect...18-20 pts with 3 point range and a limited post up game, 8 rebounds (Not Ben Wallace fight type rebounds, but Rasheed Wallace/Marcus Camby type rebounds because you are longer than most guys), maybe a block, and 2 assists...

It's all about Frye playing more minutes. Knicks fans and management should not be thinking free agency or trades in regard to the starting power fwd spot. Frye is it.....same with curry but this is a Frye forum

Frye could easily get 15-18 per with 8-9 rebs per next year but it's all about Brown wants....Brown might want to get a vet to play over him and waste his younger years. We'll see.

Side note.....take a look at Chris Bosh rookie numbers....Frye was better except Bosh was getting 33 mins as compared to Channings 25 mins per.

Bosh was the same player Frye is now. Bosh got extreamly better since then. Bosh can do it all now. I can't see why Frye can't mimic Bosh's second year production....16pts, 8 rebs, and 1 block.

if jermaine of kg become available, frye will get traded. forget how you feel, or i feel, all that matters is what the organization feels...and right now, it feels a little desperate.

Player G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF TOT APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG

Vince Carter 73 73 38.2 .417 .383 .806 1.30 3.50 4.80 4.8 1.21 .89 3.05 2.90 22.5

Jalen Rose 50 50 39.4 .410 .311 .822 .50 3.50 4.00 5.5 .78 .36 3.42 2.80 16.2

D Marshall 66 66 39.1 .467 .403 .741 2.80 8.00 10.70 1.4 1.21 1.58 1.44 3.00 16.2

At 19,20 Bosh already played the ball better defensively.

On a team with Carter Rose and Donyell firing away, 11.5 ppg for a rookie is impressive.

Frye reminds me of a taller Shareef Abdur Rahim. Soft but talented offensively.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

Lee can't play the 3 in this league...He just isn't fast enough to keep up with other 3's..that is if you care about defense...right now he is a tweener but needs to grow into a 4...U can't teach speed...
