ladies and gentlemen...the new york knicks are about to embark on the summer trading frenzy of 2006. entering the trading season, the knicks have two big expiring deals in jalen rose and mo taylor. they also have disgruntled max players in steph and francis. two #1 picks are also at the lord's disposal as are a few young players. lb has asked for some changes...and he may get them. here is a list of players that the knicks organization should say "NO THANKS" to.

without further adieu, the official 2006 NO THANKS CLUB:

PLATINUM STATUS MEMBERS:

kenyon martin: (aka kmart, aka the grand kenyon, aka the stutterin' tattoo)
5 years, $70 mil left on his deal. a proud member of the "microfracture" club and a lockerroom problem.

darius miles: (aka the fallout guy)
an aspiring thespian that shows up to practice with booze on his breath. "practice?!??! we talkin' bout practice." lb would love that. and he cursed out mo cheeks in practice. but it was a "misunderstanding". oh, did i mention that he wants his own bobblehead?

zach randolph: (aka eddie winslow, the older son from family matters)
5 years, $74 mil left on his deal. another member of the "microfracture" club. another "great" locker room guy.

troy murphy: (aka tuscan sam)
dude puts up decent numbers but is a jock. he takes a bunch of jumpers and will not pass the ball. has 5 years, $50 mil left on his deal. trading for him would mean the end of channing frye's days as a potential starter for us.

tracy mcgrady: (aka tmac, aka lazy eye, aka steve urkel)
max player. star player. but a head case and a bad back. quit on doc...and looks like he's quitting on houston.

antoine walker:
because there are no 4's.

any minnesota timberwolves:
because they are...wait for it....wait for it...scrubs.

mike james:
a 31 year old guard that said the following: "i want to be able to take my girl to the bahamas when i want to" and "i want the keys to the car and i deserve to run a team."

baron davis: (aka bdiddy)
it's what i like to call...simple math.
stephon marbury = steve francis = baron davis

UNDER CONSIDERATION:

chris webber: (aka cwebb, aka on golden knee)
"microfracture" club vice president, with a hefty price tag to boot. still feels the offense should run through him and starts to pout when things don't go his way. BUT, if the deal involves moving steph or francis, then he is part of a salary dump plan therefore he is only under consideration for membership.

ladies and gentlemen...your 2006 NO THANKS CLUB

hmmmmm.

I LIKE!

Even though ya'll are gonna call me a finger crossing bastard b/c I've petitioned for K-Mart, I've been to known to change my mind.

Why? B/c I feel like it!
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Classic! ROFL!!!!!
"As the air ball hits you right between the eyes/
you're paralyzed!"

Zach Randolph.
To be fair, Zach had the surgery over the summer and just played 74 games averaging 18 and 8. On a good team, I'd say he ought to put up 15 and 10 and could easly manage that. His game doesn't rely heavily on athleticism. Hes crafty and rebounds by positioning ala Kurt Thomas. I'd take him, we have enough bad contracts that i wouldn't mind trading a couple of them for him. A trade for him would be difficult to pull off without another team tho, but if it can be done in a way favorable for us (jerome and Q1), it makes a lot of sense.

Darius Miles
The perimeter defense we need. He could anchor our defense and help out on the boards since our frontline of the future is weak in that area. He could help on offense too. I've written about him a million times, I like him, I'd make a move for him.

Good list.

Solid chance we're getting every one of them.

Say no to Tim Thomas b/c his big playoff performance has Isiah Thomas written all over it. Wow, this team has become the All Everyone Allanfan doesn't want on the Knicks, NBA Team.

I'm so iffy about D. Miles.

I mean, he's improved, but IDK.

I'm sure we could land him and Ratliff for Taylor, Jerome James, and David Lee.

I think Jermaine O'neal could be had. If Isiah and Bird weren't such enemies, it could happen. Maybe something like this:

O'Neal and Peja

for

Francis, Frye and Rose
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

No thanks to Oneal. He's not a guy to build around, and we would be attempting to build around him, and we'd fall flat on our face and blame it on him.

Who is a guy to build around?

That build around model is flawed unless you have one of like 5 players: Kobe, TD, KG, LBJ, maybe Dirk and maybe Wade.

Every good team has several good to great players. Who did Detroit build around?

Troy Murphy I would definitely take. The rest of the list I agree with (though obviously if we could get someone of T-Mac's caliber and get rid of Mebury, you'd have to do it).

tmac's "caliber"? I hate that loser. he's worse than Marbury.

These are guys that LB wants.

if lb wanted eric snow, he would be a knick already.
if lb wanted ratliff, he would be a knick already.
as exhibited by francis. lb wanted him, right? so he's a knick.

and if they were knicks, eric would be accompanied by drew and ratliff with dmiles. so in essence, those guys would be the throw-ins, not the centerpiece.

again, george lynch was a free agent all year. but we didn't pick him up. why? isn't he the quintessential lb type of player?

you guys kill me.

Has anyone even mentioned baron davis in a knick uniform at all on this board? What do guys think of that?

Larry endorsed baron like he was his lover when the knick played gs.

I'd love to see a baron for Francis deal. Baron is a better passer and can actually take over games down the stretch.

Also is you go to reebok.com baron davis has a little video on there saying how much love he has for nyc.

Get er dun.
