Sources: Clippers Will Look To Deal Maggette For Draft Pick 4th May, 2006 - 1:54 pm
ESPN - Marc Stein of ESPN is reporting that sources have informed him the Clippers are likely to seek a trade involving Corey Maggette for the best draft selection they can acquire in return, most likely from a team such as Chicago or Atlanta, who will have a lottery pick, as well as salary cap space.
The thinking behind dealing Maggette is that Donald Sterling will be more willing to spend the money to re-sign Sam Cassell and Vladimir Radmanovic if Maggette's salary is shed. [READ]

with grant hill retiring, how about orlando trading the #10 for him? nice young player to go with their nice young lineup. maggette looks pretty good next to nelson, turkoglu, milicic, and dwight, no?
or how about utah and #14. maggette, ak47, boozer, memo and deron?

We have 2 picks in a weak draft. And Maggette is cool and all, but we have like 1000 guards on this team already, none of whom Donald would or could take back. PLus the dude is built like a rock, but apparently quite fragile, hes never come within 10 games of playing a full season.
Maybe Malik Rose, but I doubt it.
Maggette would be perfect on Orlando, or even Memphis, he just isn't the distributor Memphis needs.

ah fooey.... if we had our pick and traded it for magetti, he would be hated here after 3 months.... whats new...
if we had our pick, we wouldn't have traded it for maggette.
but if we had the #10 pick, then that might've been a possibility.
point being, we don't know what will be available on draft night, and the #1 or #2 pick will result in a MUCH MUCH MUCH better player than maggette...even in a "weak" draft.
