lebron has a good game and all of a sudden he's the second coming....
This is a good point. I bet everyone that will trade for Lebron are doing the trade based on his potential. I agree that there is a bit of a 'hype' factor there. If we are being cautious, I would agree that Curry, Lee and Frye are a bit too much to give up for Lebron. Like you said, he is not the second coming just yet.

You only hedge all of your bets like that on a dominant big man, those are the only kind of players who can will a team into the playoffs and/or championship.

Michael Jordan's Bulls 3-peated twice.

I would do the trade for Lebron without hesitaion. I was just acknowledging rv's point that winning a championship is not a forgone conclusion if we trade of Lebron. As far as the right pieces thing goes, everyone needs a good supporting team. Jordan had Pippen and also had Rodman for another 3 year run. Ewing would win a bunch of championships with Pippen and Rodman too! I bet he would win one in 1996 if it wasnt for PJ and Zo.

funny, you both scoff at marbury's 20/8 as if it's made up, but you drool over lebrons stats.

7 years? as much bitching as both of you do, you can honestly say you would wait SEVEN YEARS?

I think it's time for both of you to step away from the keyboard...NOW!

when in doubt (or completely living in fantasy land and living in the past), bring up jordan, after game two and the cavs lost home court advantage, where were these posts...mcK1, I hate to say it, but you are an effing front runner.

When the knicks are winning, you probably love them...to me, that's not a fan, that's a fair weather fan...I stopped associating with them in high school.

chump.

if marbury's 20/8 was carrying us in the playoffs and to 50 win seasons...then we wouldn't be scoffing at him.

reality check rv - it's been 5 years and counting since we've been decent.

Keep ignoring the off season moves made by cleveland...

Lebron alone = marbury + crawford + Woods.

IMHO.

btw, lebron is AWESOME (I like kobe better) but like I said, I'd not give up our entire future, keeping what we have and filling in the blanks gets us to the promised land waaaaay sooner.

You guys have to PUT THE **** DOWN!

If the deal were there, would you trade Frye, Lee, Curry & Nate to Cleveland for LeBron???
I'd do that deal even if we had to include our first rd picks every other year through 2011, maybe even 2111!

does Marbury rebound? whether you understand this or not reboundingis a huge part of this game. The fact that one of their best ball-handlers is getting 7 from the perimeter explains why he and his team are in transition getting easy buckets a good deal of the time.

In contradt Steph's teams don't break as much because he nor Crawford until tjis last month defensive rebounded

and MJ didn't get out of the first round of the play-offs until like his 6th try you. How old are you?

That is ridiculous. How could you say no to that from a Knicks standpoint? I like our young guys but Lebron is Lebron. When all is said and done, he could be the 2nd best basketball player to ever play the game. Hell, maybe even first although I don't see anyone anytime soon topping MJ.

The hardest part of building a contender is getting that star/s that can lead you. You get Lebron, you put your franchise in a damn good position. He is only 21 and he is already a top 3 player in this league. Damn right you do that deal and you do it in a heartbeat without even thinking.

I would not subject Lebron to the NY Knicks franchise. I wouldn't waste his talent on Dolan & Co.

So I say no. For Lebron's sake.

In three to five years, when Shaq, Kobe, Iverson, Duncan and some of the rest are on the decline or can't hack it anymore, who do you think is going to be dominating the league? At this point, I don't see any LeBron competition. Do any of you? Wade, Carmelo, O'Neal (IN) aren't going to be in the same league. I see us having one opportunity in a few years and that includes LeBron recognizing he's going nowhere in Cleveland for us to have at least a shot at him. We have to manage that scenario though and do it now. If Zeke plays the cards right now, we could be in that position, otherwise, even if we do become competitive enough to make it to the playoffs again in a couple of years, we'll be the one's cleaning LeBrons sweat off of the floor after he and company cruise past our guys. Take your pick, do you want him or don't you? It could happen. It's not impossible. If we get a shot, we want to at least be able to make that offer.
I'll never trust this' team again.

Lebron is already at the worst a top 10 player and has the talent to the be the best player in the league.

On many of the playoff teams not one player we'd give up is a starter and two of em probably aren't
even in the rotation.

Exactly. For the Cavs to even consider trading Lebron, it would probably take an offer of something like Kobe and four 1st rd picks.

the only way knicks can get james if new york is willing to do a herschel walker-type trade and and when james is probably at the age of 29

This thread is beyond idiotic. The person who even proposed this thread is out of his mind. And RV is an even bigger moron for not wanting to do that trade.

Once you have a true franchie player on your team, brininging in a supporting cast is not that big of a deal if you have the money to spend on it.

Anybody who turns down a trade for Bron, Kobe, Duncan, don't know anything about ball and are just hating.
