i HATE webber. HATE HATE HATE webber.

but would you guys consider this:

jalen for webber + 2007 #1

saves philly over $20 mil. all they have to do is dump iverson (i.e for eddie jones) and they're $20+ mil under the cap in the summer of 2007.

we get a stopgap PF but more importantly, we get their #1 which theoretically, should be lotto since they'll lose next season.

the difference being that webber expires in 2 years. plus, we can always just buy him out after next season. he's the epitome of stop gap...but if we keep giving teams financial relief, at least in this case, a lotto pick is attached.

When are we going to stop taking back these ridiculous contracts just because they are throwing in a first round pick? NO NO NO NO! The Malik Rose and Mo Taylor trades were more than enough for me.

by my mother's mandible, I say NAY!

I still dont think this trade will help us significantly because as talented as cwebb is, I fear he will be a distraction for the team. he reportedly had problems with mo cheeks, he'll probably have even more with larry. also since its the same thread I guess I dont have to repost this on realgm, or do I? afterall I have to increase my post count. I dont want to be a scout for much longer.

it's a good thought dj. Maybe we should be investing in #1's for the next couple of years and build totally from young guys. It's a way out for Zeke. I think if he had it all to do over again, he probably would have did it different and just waited a couple of losing years to build an army of rooks.
I'll never trust this' team again.

That window passed the day he was hired. His vision has failed miserabley. He could have rebuilt.

I'm a firm believer that 'whoever' GM's team will always be under pressure to produce 'fast' or your out! Don't forget, this is New York City, or maybe you don't have this perspective (and maybe that is what is wrong with the NY fan) like others do, outside of NY borders. It's fast and it's is pressure to produce 'now' mentality. All four sports have salary caps because of NYC. We pay the highest salaries and the rest of the leagues complained about it, saying they couldn't compete and now look who's paying for it. NY!
I'll never trust this' team again.

they shouldn't go for Kmart, Webber or anyone out there with huge contracts.. let rose, taylor, houston, and whoever else contracts run out.. They should either stockpile with draft picks, sign journeymen players to a small contracts or even use the exception wisely.. Enough with taking othere teams huge contract players!!!

It could be a good way to enter the Oden sweepstakes, but what a price to pay, and he is gonna be disgruntled if he doesn't play.
